Alexander is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Alexander received the Opening Day start at second base, but he'll end up hitting the bench in favor of Jeremiah Jackson for a second straight game. Alexander and Jackson appear to be in a timeshare at the keystone until Jackson Holliday (hand) -- who began a minor-league rehab assignment Friday -- is ready to return.

Rutschman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

With Baltimore closing out its season-opening series against the Twins with a day game, Rutschman will rest after starting the first two contests. Samuel Basallo will fill in for Rutschman at catcher.

Duran went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Reds. He was also hit by a pitch.

Duran has reached base four times through the first two games of the season and stolen a base in each contest. He's off to a quick start and looking to record a fourth consecutive season with 20-plus steals; Duran's stolen 82 bags (97 attempts) over the previous three seasons. He's served as a DH thus far, as Boston manager Alex Cora looks to find playing time for five outfielders.

Seabold tossed 2.1 scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Padres. He allowed one hit and struck out three.

After Detroit starter Jack Flaherty allowed three runs (two earned) while covering only 4.1 innings, Seabold was needed to cover a few frames. The righty looked sharp across 50 pitches in his team debut, and he managed to keep the Tigers in the game after Flaherty's ineffective outing. It looks like Seabold, who has made 19 starts at the MLB level in his career, will be tasked with a long-relief role in Detroit.

Watson allowed three walks while striking out one over 2.1 hitless and scoreless innings in Saturday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to Cincinnati.

Watson, a Rule 5 pick, made his major-league debut in the sixth inning in a not so low-leverage situation. The Red Sox were trailing by two runs when the rookie entered with two outs and two runners on. After walking the first batter he faced, Watson twice thought he'd struck out Eugenio Suarez on called third strikes and walked off the mound, but both calls were challenged and overturned. The right-hander eventually gathered himself and got the slugger to ground out to second base before working scoreless seventh and eighth innings. Despite the tension surrounding Saturday's appearance, Watson is expected to remain in a low-leverage role.

Estevez had X-rays come back negative on his left ankle after being struck by a comebacker during Saturday's loss to Atlanta, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander blew the save in his season debut, surrendering six runs on four hits and two walks in one-third of an inning. With the X-rays returning negative, the injury is now a secondary concern for the Royals and Estevez, who averaged just 91.2 mph with his fastball Saturday, down nearly five ticks from last season. The horrid outing doubled his worst performance from 2025, in which he gave up three runs. Estevez will likely have some leash as Kansas City's closer after recording 42 saves with a 2.45 ERA last year, but that leash is likely to be shorter if the velocity woes continue.

Bibee (shoulder) said that he felt good after completing a 26-pitch bullpen session Saturday, but the Guardians have yet to decide if he'll be ready to go for his next turn through the rotation Tuesday versus the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Bibee started Thursday's season-opening 6-4 win over the Mariners, going five innings and striking out seven while allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks in a no-decision. He was on track to remain in the game for the bottom of the sixth inning, but after throwing his final warmup pitch, Bibee motioned to the dugout and was removed from the contest after an evaluation from a trainer. He was later diagnosed with right shoulder inflammation, but the Guardians are optimistic that the injury is minor, and Bibee's ability to complete a weighted-ball workout Friday and throw a bullpen session Saturday seemingly supports that notion. Bibee noted that the Guardians will wait and see how he's feeling Sunday before deciding on his status for Tuesday's contest.

Story went 1-for-6 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Reds.

Story's third-inning homer was his first of the season, but the at-bat with more impact occurred in the eighth inning with two outs, two runners on and Boston trailing by one. Home plate umpire CB Bucknor, who had six ball/strike calls overturned by ABS overturned and potentially would have had more had Boston not used up all of its challenges early in the game, rung up Story on what appeared to be a check swing. Without a challenge to use, Story went old school and threw a tantrum at home plate; Red Sox manager Alex Cora came out to protect his player and was eventually ejected. Story is 2-for-11 through two games with an RBI in each contest.

Ramirez went 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning win over Seattle.

Ramirez added his name to the franchise record book again. His sixth-inning double plated the Guardians' first run and was the 400th of his career, making him the third player in franchise history to amass that many doubles. In 2025, he set the franchise record for career extra-base hits and multi-home run games. Thus far in 2026, Ramirez is 2-for-14 with two doubles and three RBI over the first three games.

Manzardo started a first base and went 1-for-5 with an RBI in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

Manzardo served as the designated hitter for the first two games of the season before finally getting a chance to play some defense. The Guardians initially planned to give him more starts at first base this season, but for now he's sharing the position with Rhys Hoskins. Manzardo is 2-for-13 with eight strikeouts through three contests.
