Schanuel is absent from Wednesday's lineup against Texas.

Schanuel has been in the lineup against southpaws this season, though he's slashing .197/.280/.303 with two home runs and 10 RBI across 75 plate appearances against left-handed pitching. He'll be on the bench for the beginning of Wednesday's contest while Vaughn Grissom starts at first base and bats third against Rangers southpaw Mackenzie Gore.

Meckler is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Rangers on Wednesday.

The Rangers are sending southpaw Mackenzie Gore to the mound, so the lefty-hitting Meckler will take a seat while Josh Lowe, Jose Siri and Jo Adell start in the outfield from left to right. With Mike Trout (hamstring) back from the 10-day injured list, it's possible that either or both of Meckler and Lowe lose out on playing time against right-handed pitching. Meckler is slashing .284/.357/.394 with two steals, two home runs and 16 RBI over 129 plate appearances this season.

Tromp cleared outright waivers Wednesday and accepted an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Baltimore removed Tromp from its 40-man roster last Friday after Adley Rutschman was reinstated from the 7-day injured list in a corresponding move. Tromp will end up sticking around in Baltimore's organization and head to the Triple-A level, where he's slashed .182/.270/.341 with three home runs and 13 RBI in 100 plate appearances between Gwinnett and Norfolk this season.

Peraza will start at second base and bat sixth Wednesday against the Rangers.

Peraza will cover the keystone for the third game in a row, with two of his starts having come versus left-handers and one coming versus a righty. With the Angels designating Donovan Walton for assignment Wednesday, Peraza could end up getting a look as an everyday second baseman, though Vaughn Grissom still looms as potential threat for playing time at the position.

Peters is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Peters saw his eight-game hitting streak come to an end in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to Boston, when he went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. He'll be on the bench for the beginning of Wednesday's contest while Junior Perez starts in center field and bats seventh against Red Sox southpaw Jake Bennett.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Gonzalez will head to the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Andrew Benintendi and Tristan Peters while the Red Sox send southpaw Jake Bennett to the bump. Miguel Vargas will move over from his usual spot at third base to cover first base in place of Gonzalez.

Benintendi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Benintendi will head to the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Jacob Gonzalez and Tristan Peters while the Red Sox send southpaw Jake Bennett to the bump. Randal Grichuk will replace Benintendi at designated hitter and will bat second.

Gonzalez is not in the Red Sox's starting lineup against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Gonzalez will take a breather while the lefty-hitting Masataka Yoshida serves as Boston's designated hitter and bats fifth against White Sox right-hander Davis Martin. Gonzalez has gone 7-for-20 (.350) with five RBI and three extra-base hits over his last five games.

Trammell is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

The left-handed-hitting Trammell will hit the bench for a third straight game, with his last two absences coming against left-handed starting pitchers. Brice Matthews will get the nod in center field Wednesday, but Trammell could still occupy the strong side of a platoon at the position.

Shewmake is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Shewmake will join fellow left-handed hitters LaMonte Wade and Taylor Trammell on the bench while the Astros stock up on some extra right-handed bats to counter Nationals southpaw Foster Griffin. Nick Allen will replace Shewmake at shortstop Wednesday, though both players are likely to see their opportunities in the middle infield dwindle this weekend, when Jeremy Pena (calf) is expected to return from the injured list.
