  • Joe Ryan SP | MIN

Twins' Joe Ryan: Will pitch in suspended game

Ryan will pitch Wednesday for the resumption of Monday's suspended game against the Guardians, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander was penciled in to start Wednesday's series finale for Minnesota, but he'll instead take the mound for the suspended contest after Tuesday's game was also postponed. The Twin's held a 2-1 lead after three innings when the game was pushed Monday, so Ryan will have a strong opportunity to secure his fourth win in five starts. After the completion of the suspended game, Chris Paddack will start Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest for the Twins.

  • Alex Cobb SP | DET

Tigers' Alex Cobb: Receiving injections for hip

Cobb is still dealing with inflammation in his hip and is scheduled to receive a series of injections this week, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The 37-year-old opened the campaign on the injured list due to hip inflammation, which began bothering him at the start of spring training. Cobb received an epidural shot in late February to aid in his recovery, and he's now receiving some additional injections. The right-hander continues to play catch daily, but he'll likely require a significant ramp-up period before being cleared to pitch in games.

  • Cole Winn RP | TEX

Rangers' Cole Winn: Back with Rangers

The Rangers recalled Winn from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Just two days after being sent down to Triple-A, Winn will rejoin the Rangers' bullpen to replace the injured Chris Martin (shoulder). Winn, 25, has pitched 23.1 scoreless innings in the minors and also kept the Astros off the scoreboard for 2.1 frames during his season debut Friday.

  • Chris Martin RP | TEX

Rangers' Chris Martin: Lands on injured list

The Rangers placed Martin (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to May 19, due to right shoulder fatigue.

The right-hander exited Sunday's contest due to the shoulder injury after departing due to an elbow issue earlier in the week, and he's now headed to the injured list. It's unclear how long Martin is expected to be sidelined, but he'll be unavailable for at least the next couple weeks. Cole Winn was called up to fill the opening on the 26-man roster.

  • Matthew Lugo LF | KC

Angels' Matthew Lugo: On bench Tuesday

Lugo isn't in the Angels' lineup Tuesday against the Athletics.

Prior to Tuesday, Lugo had started in five consecutive games. In that stretch, he went 6-for-19 with a home run and two RBI. However, he struck out eight times and did not manage a walk in that span. While the rookie has been hitting the ball well, he will get some rest Tuesday with Kyren Paris starting in center field.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

    Angels' Jorge Soler: Idle Tuesday

Soler isn't in the Angels' lineup against the Athletics on Tuesday.

Soler has been struggling at the plate with a slash line of .133/.257/.133 across his last 35 plate appearances. The 33-year-old will get a chance to reset on the bench Tuesday as Logan O'Hoppe takes over as the designated hitter.

  • Austin Shenton 1B | SEA

Mariners' Austin Shenton: Pushed off 40-man roster

The Mariners designated Shenton for assignment Tuesday.

Shenton has been at Triple-A all season, slashing .207/.284/.413 with eight homers, 26 RBI and 23 runs scored across 169 plate appearances. He'll give up his spot on the 40-man roster for Casey Lawrence, who was selected to the active roster Tuesday.

  • Athletics' Miguel Andujar: Starting at hot corner Tuesday

Andujar (ribs) is starting at third and batting sixth against the Angels on Tuesday.

Andujar was absent from Monday's series opener versus the Angels after being scratched from the lineup due to right rib soreness. The injury is not serious as suspected, so the 30-year-old is set to return to action Tuesday.

  • Jhonathan Diaz RP | SEA

Mariners' Jhonathan Diaz: Optioned to Tacoma

The Mariners optioned Diaz to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.

Diaz didn't appear in a game after being recalled from the minors last week, and he'll now be sent back down in favor of Casey Lawrence. The 28-year-old Diaz has turned in a 5.87 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across 30.2 innings at Tacoma.

  • Casey Lawrence RP | SEA

Mariners' Casey Lawrence: Selected from Triple-A

The Mariners selected Lawrence's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.

Lawrence has given up four earned runs in 10 innings with the Mariners this season, and he'll now rejoin the active roster to provide Seattle with a relief option capable of handling multiple innings out of the bullpen. To make room for Lawrence on the 26-man and 40-man rosters, Jhonathan Diaz was optioned to Triple-A, and Austin Shenton was designated for assignment.
