The Twins optioned Keirsey to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The move makes room on the Twins' 26-man roster for Matt Wallner (hamstring), who was reinstated off the 10-day injured list. Keirsey cracked the Twins' Opening Day roster but saw inconsistent playing time in the majors due to his .109/.136/.156 slash line and 31.8 percent strikeout rate over 66 plate appearances. He'll look to regain his form in Triple-A, where he posted an .850 OPS with 37 steals, 14 home runs and 81 RBI in 505 plate appearances in 2024.

The Guardians reinstated Fry (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Fry has spent the first portion of the season working his way back from an elbow procedure he underwent in November. He began playing in minor-league games May 13 and went 3-for-29 with a homer, five RBI and two runs scored during his nine-game rehab assignment. Despite his underwhelming performance, the Guardians feel he's ready to rejoin the active roster. Cody Bolton was designated for assignment to create room for Fry on the 40-man roster.

The Twins reinstated Wallner (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Wallner is set to return to major-league action for the first time since mid-April after landing on the 10-day IL due to a hamstring strain. The 27-year-old outfielder was slashing .263/.373/.474 with five doubles, one home run and three RBI in 67 plate appearances prior to his injury and will start in right field and bat fifth against the Mariners on Saturday. DaShawn Keirsey was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Friday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Goldschmidt clubbed the final of four early home runs for New York, swatting a solo shot in the third inning. The long ball snapped a 12-game stretch without a homer for the veteran slugger, though he hit well during that span, batting .350 with a 6:5 BB:K. Goldschmidt has a modest six home runs on the season, putting him on pace to finish below 20 for the first time since the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, but he's otherwise been plenty productive with a .343 batting average (fourth best in the majors) and .901 OPS.

The Athletics optioned Maldonado to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

After being recalled from Triple-A on May 20, Maldonado gave up six earned runs in just five innings while striking out five batters and walking five more. The A's will now send him back to the minors to right the ship and recall Osvaldo Bido as the 27-year-old's replacement.

The Athletics recalled Bido from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

Bido owns a 5.82 ERA and 1.62 WHIP across 43.1 innings in the majors this season and allowed five runs in five frames during his most recent outing in Triple-A. Despite his performance, he'll return to the big-league pitching staff to replace Anthony Maldonado, which suggests the A's may look to use Bido out of the bullpen going forward.

Meidroth is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Orioles on Saturday.

Meidroth will get a breather after starting in each of the White Sox's last 13 games, slashing .315/.373/.407 with five steals, one home run and two RBI in 59 plate appearances during that span. Vinny Capra will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

The Astros recalled Whitcomb from Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday.

With Chas McCormick (oblique) moving to the injured list Saturday, the Astros will call up Whitcomb to give the team a bench bat capable of playing nearly every position. The 26-year-old has been in the minors all year, putting together a .275/.357/.599 slash line with 18 home runs, 38 RBI, 37 runs scored and six steals in 53 games.

Quero is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Orioles on Saturday.

Quero will take a seat after going 5-for-18 with three doubles over his last five starts. Korey Lee will start behind home plate and bat eighth while forming a battery with Davis Martin.

The Astros placed McCormick on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain, retroactive to Friday.

McCormick has gone 4-for-18 with two RBI and two runs scored since the start of May, but he'll now be unavailable for at least the next nine days while he recovers from his strained oblique. Shay Whitcomb will come up from Triple-A Sugar Land to fill the open roster spot.
