The Red Sox optioned Fitts to Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Fitts recorded just three outs in Monday's loss to the Angels. He had not been fully stretched out after recovering from a pectoral strain, so he'll be given time to rebuild stamina at Worcester. Hunter Dobbins will enter Boston's rotation.

Rangers' Evan Carter: Returns from injured list

The Rangers reinstated Carter (quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list, and he's starting in center field and batting eighth Tuesday against the Rays.

Carter has been sidelined since May 16 due to a Grade 2 quadriceps strain, but he's ready to rejoin the Rangers after a three-game rehab stint with Triple-A Round Rock. The 23-year-old has played in just 11 big-league games so far this season and is batting .182 (6-for-33) with a home run and three stolen bases.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Grabbing seat Tuesday

Schneemann is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

Manzardo is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

With lefty Carlos Rodon on the bump for the Yankees, the left-handed-hitting Manzardo will begin the tilt on the bench. David Fry is at designated hitter and batting cleanup for the Guardians.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Back in Kansas City lineup

Garcia (thumb) is starting at third base and batting third in Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Batting sixth in MLB debut

Caglianone is starting at designated hitter and batting sixth in his major-league debut Tuesday in St. Louis.

Caglianone is expected to see the bulk of his starts in right field for the Royals, but he'll be broken in at DH. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Caglianone earned a promotion to the majors after slashing .322/.389/.593 with 15 home runs and two stolen bases over 50 games between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Omaha.

Blue Jays' Ali Sanchez: Loses spot on 40-man roster

The Blue Jays designated Sanchez for assignment Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

With Tyler Heineman back from the 7-day concussion injured list, the Jays no longer had a need for Sanchez. If Sanchez passes through waivers, he could stick around in the organization as catching depth.

  • Blue Jays' Michael Stefanic: Booted from 40-man roster

The Blue Jays designated Stefanic for assignment Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The transaction clears space on the active roster for the return of Andres Gimenez (quad). Stefanic will likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

  • Blue Jays' Tyler Heineman: Back from concussion IL

The Blue Jays activated Heineman from the 7-day concussion injured list Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Heineman missed a little over a week of action with concussion symptoms. He'll serve as Alejandro Kirk's understudy at catcher.
