Walter allowed two runs on six hits while striking out five across six innings, but he did not factor into Sunday's decision against the Guardians. He did not issue a walk.

Walter was promoted from Triple-A Sugar Land to make his second major-league start of the season. He put the Astros behind after yielding a two-run homer to Bo Naylor in the second, but Walter kept the Guardians off the board the rest of the way and retired the last 10 batters he faced. Per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle, the Astros plan on using a six-man rotation during their stretch of 13 straight games, which puts Walter in line to make his next start against the Twins at home next weekend.

Clase earned the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Astros, allowing two hits in a scoreless ninth.

Clase worked around back-to-back singles to Yainer Diaz and Jake Meyers to come away with the save, needing just 12 pitches (six strikes) to do so. Clase has converted 10 straight save opportunities, with his last blown save taking place April 20 against the Pirates. He has yielded just one earned run since the beginning of May and has a 3.54 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB across 28 innings this season.

Naylor went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-2 win over Houston.

Naylor -- who went 1-for-26 with 12 strikeouts in the nine games prior to Sunday -- put the Guardians on the board in the second inning when he took Brandon Walter deep to right-center field for a 429-foot, two-run home run. It was Naylor's first home run since May 24 against the Tigers, and his eight homers on the season are tied for fifth-most among catchers in the American League.

Bibee did not factor into the decision in Sunday's game against the Astros, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six across 6.1 innings. He did not issue a walk.

Bibee kept the Astros off the board through the first six innings. He looked to be in line for the win with the Guardians up 2-0, but he yielded a two-run double to Cam Smith in the seventh before being pulled. Bibee is up to six quality starts this season and boasts a 3.81 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 62:23 K:BB across 75.2 innings, but the 14 home runs he's allowed are fourth-most in the American League. He's slated to start against the Mariners on the road next weekend.

Dominguez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

After moving past a thumb issue that kept him out of the lineup for a pair of contests, Dominguez had started each of the past three games but went just 1-for-12 with one walk and seven strikeouts. The Yankees will give Dominguez the night off to clear his head, opening up the designated-hitter spot for Ben Rice while Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham start alongside Aaron Judge in the outfield.

Wells is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Wells will bow out of the starting nine for the series finale after he handled catching duties for the Yankees in each of the past four games. J.C. Escarra will step in for Wells behind the dish.

Volpe (elbow) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth Sunday against the Red Sox.

The 24-year-old was out of Saturday's lineup after sustaining an elbow bruise on a hit-by-pitch Friday, but he'll return to action for Sunday's series finale versus Boston. Volpe has clubbed two homers in his past four games and has gone 3-for-11 with four RBI during that span.

Latz was removed from his start in Sunday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent cut or blister on his pitching hand, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. He struck out seven and allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks over 3.1 innings before exiting the game.

Making just his second big-league start and his first since the 2021 season, Latz wasn't expected to work much deeper into Sunday's contest after he had already tossed 60 pitches prior to leaving the game following a mound visit from manager Bruce Bochy and a team trainer. Latz gave the Rangers some quality innings while he was on the mound, and assuming he can quickly move past the hand issue, he could be an option to lead off another bullpen game if Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) isn't ready to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible later this week.

Abreu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Abreu will hit the bench for the second day in a row while the Yankees send another lefty (Carlos Rodon) to the hill. Platoon mate Rob Refsnyder will replace Abreu as the Red Sox's starting right fielder.

Mayer is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

With southpaw Carlos Rodon taking the hill for the Yankees, the left-handed-hitting Mayer will retreat to the bench after going 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run in the first two contests of the series. Abraham Toro will replace Mayer at third base.
