Canzone isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Twins, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

After going 5-for-13 with three homers and an additional run scored over his last three starts, Canzone will take a seat Wednesday while Luke Raley starts in right field.

Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

After Jake Burger (oblique) was placed on the injured list Saturday, Duran started each of the Rangers' ensuing three games at first base and went 1-for-10 with a walk and a run scored. The poor three-game run as a starter may have closed Duran's window for steady playing time temporarily, as he'll now find himself on the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Brandon Young) for the second straight day. Super-utility man Josh Smith will serve as the Rangers' first baseman Wednesday, and the Rangers may use Burger's vacated lineup spot to cycle in a number of different players at designated hitter.

Varsho (hamstring) resumed running in the outfield Wednesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Varsho had previously experienced a minor setback while running the bases Monday. An MRI showed some scar tissue irritation but did not reveal any structural issues, so the hope is that the outfielder will be cleared to run the bases again soon. Varsho had been nearing a rehab assignment before the setback, so he should be ready to play in minor-league games soon if all goes well with his running program.

The Blue Jays designated Turnbull for assignment Wednesday.

The Blue Jays needed to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster and 40-man roster for the return of Max Scherzer (thumb) from the 60-day injured list, and Turnbull is the casualty. Turnbull signed a one-year contract with Toronto in early May and was called up to the majors in early June, but he didn't look sharp, allowing five runs with a 4:4 K:BB over 6.1 innings covering one start and two relief appearances. The 32-year-old should get another opportunity elsewhere, but he might have to settle for a minor-league deal if he clears waivers.

The Blue Jays activated Scherzer (thumb) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Scherzer will make his long-awaited return to the Blue Jays rotation Wednesday in Cleveland after missing nearly three months with right thumb inflammation. The 40-year-old struck out eight over 4.1 scoreless innings in his last rehab start a week ago for Triple-A Buffalo, throwing 75 pitches in the outing. Scherzer felt lingering soreness in the thumb after the start and has admitted he's not sure how the thumb will hold up. However, he and the Blue Jays are ready to give it a shot.

Goldschmidt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

After Goldschmidt was on the bench for the final two games of the Yankees' series with the Orioles over the weekend, manager Aaron Boone suggested that the veteran first baseman would start in all three of the team's games in Cincinnati to begin the week. Goldschmidt will ultimately wind up starting in just two of those contests, as he'll hit the bench for Wednesday's series finale after going 0-for-10 with three strikeouts between Monday and Tuesday. Goldschmidt should continue to play regularly versus left-handed pitching, but his opportunities against right-handed pitching are likely to become more limited while he's put together a .244/.287/.330 batting line (73 wRC+) in those matchups this season. Ben Rice (148 wRC+ versus righties) and Jasson Dominguez (122 wRC+ versus righties) could see more playing time at Goldschmidt's expense.

Bellinger is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

Bellinger's playing time has been affected less than others in the New York lineup since Giancarlo Stanton returned, but he will be sitting for the second time in 10 games since Stanton was activated. Jasson Dominguez, Trent Grisham and Aaron Judge will form the Yankees' outfield trio Wednesday.

Diaz is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Phillies.

Diaz just had a day off Sunday, but he will get another breather Wednesday in the second game of the series against the Phillies. Victor Caratini will start at catcher and bat cleanup for the Astros.

Langford is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Baltimore.

Langford missed two games over the weekend with back stiffness and has gone 1-for-13 with four strikeouts since returning to action, which includes a 0-for-6 effort Tuesday. The Rangers haven't provided any indication that he's had a setback with the injury, but Langford will get a day off to regroup. Alejandro Osuna will start in left field and bat ninth for the Rangers.
