  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Exiting starting lineup

Buxton is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the White Sox.

It's a routine day off for Buxton, who had started each of the previous seven contests and gone 10-for-29 with four home runs and two stolen bases over that stretch. James Outman will patrol center field and Luke Keaschall will be elevated to the leadoff spot for the Twins.

  • Nic Enright RP | CLE

Guardians' Nic Enright: Placed on IL

The Guardians placed Enright on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow/forearm inflammation, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Enright pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning during his latest appearance Tuesday, but he appears to have come away from the outing with an elbow issue. The Guardians will now keep him on the shelf for at least two weeks and bring up Zak Kent from Triple-A Columbus to round out their bullpen.

  • Cole Winn RP | TEX

Rangers' Cole Winn: Returns from IL

The Rangers activated Winn (hand) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Winn missed the last couple weeks with nerve irritation in his right hand, but he's ready to go following a brief rehab assignment. The right-hander has authored a 1.45 ERA and 26:15 K:BB over 31 innings covering 25 relief appearances for the Rangers in 2025.

  • Danny Coulombe RP | TEX

Rangers' Danny Coulombe: Placed on injured list

The Rangers placed Coulombe on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left shoulder fatigue, retroactive to Monday.

Coulombe hasn't made an appearance out of the bullpen since giving up three earned runs in just one-third of an inning Aug. 26, and his shoulder injury provides some clarity to the situation. He'll remain on the sidelines until at least Sept. 16, and the Rangers will return Cole Winn (hand) from the IL to claim the open bullpen spot.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Sitting out Thursday

Caglianone isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Caglianone will sit down for the second time in three games since returning from the injured list while the Royals ease him back into major-league action. His absence will give Carter Jensen a start as Kansas City's designated hitter while batting eighth.

  • Bryse Wilson RP | CHW

White Sox's Bryse Wilson: Jettisoned from 40-man

The White Sox designated Wilson for assignment Thursday.

Wilson's time with the White Sox will come to an end after just five days, during which he threw two shutout innings in his lone appearance Tuesday against Minnesota. The 27-year-old cleared waivers and remained with the organization when he was DFA'd in June, and there's a strong chance he does the same this time around.

  • Bryan Hudson RP | CHW

White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Out with lower-back strain

The White Sox placed Hudson on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a lower-back strain.

Hudson had been recalled earlier this week and made just one appearance before landing on the IL. He'll be eligible to return later this month, but any injury at this point has the potential to be a season-ender.

  • Tyler Gilbert RP | CHW

White Sox's Tyler Gilbert: Back in big leagues

The White Sox recalled Gilbert from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.

The 31-year-old southpaw was sent down to Triple-A last week, but he'll now return to Chicago to fill in for Bryan Hudson (back), who landed on the injured list Thursday. Gilbert owns a 4.61 ERA through 41 innings in the majors this year and will presumably work in middle relief while with the big club.

  • White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Back up for bulk-relief duty

The White Sox recalled Cannon from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.

Cannon is scheduled to serve as the bulk reliever in Thursday's game against the Twins. The right-hander has made 17 starts and two relief appearances for Chicago this season, posting a 5.34 ERA and 76:35 K:BB over 96 innings.

  • Tayler Saucedo RP | SEA

Mariners' Tayler Saucedo: Dispatched to Tacoma

The Mariners optioned Saucedo to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Saucedo is being sent down to make room on the active roster for Jose Castillo, who officially reported Thursday one day after being claimed off waivers. The left-handed Saucedo holds a 7.43 ERA and 12:6 K:BB over 13.1 innings for Seattle this season.
