The Orioles selected Bowman's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

Baltimore cleared room for Bowman on the 40-man roster by designating Luis F. Castillo for assignment and on the 26-man roster by optioning Kade Strowd to Norfolk. Bowman will be up with the big club for the third time this season, after he accrued a 4.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB in 21.2 innings over 18 appearances in his prior two stints with Baltimore.

Jones is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

With southpaw Matthew Liberatore on the bump for the Cardinals, Jones will join fellow left-handed hitters Bo Naylor, Kyle Manzardo and Daniel Schneemann on the bench. Johnathan Rodriguez will replace Jones as the Guardians' starting right fielder.

Schneemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Toro is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Toro started the first two games of the series and will take a seat Sunday after going 2-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base, two RBI and two runs in Saturday's contest. The 28-year-old was slumping at the plate prior to that performance with a .174/.224/.261 slash line in his previous 14 games. Romy Gonzalez is stepping in at first base.

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Naylor will remain on the bench for a second day in a row, this time sitting out against lefty Matthew Liberatore after the Cardinals sent right-hander Miles Mikolas to the bump Saturday. Naylor should still see the bulk of the starts versus righties, but his playing time could be starting to slip after going just 1-for-31 with 13 strikeouts and one walk over his previous 12 games.

Abreu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Abreu got the start in the Red Sox's most recent matchup against a lefty starter (Yusei Kikuchi) on Wednesday, but the outfielder will head to the bench Sunday against Eric Lauer. For the season, Abreu is slashing just .219/.324/.281 (73 wRC+) in 37 plate appearances versus lefties, so the Red Sox will keep him on the bench for those matchups more often than not.

Sogard will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Since being called up from Triple-A Worcester on Friday to cover for Marcelo Mayer (personal), Sogard has started all three games of the series with Toronto. After going 2-for-6 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run in the first two contests, Sogard will get the nod again at the keystone over David Hamilton. The Red Sox will likely send an infielder back to the minors once Mayer is reinstated, but Sogard could end up sticking around over Hamilton or Nate Eaton, both of whom have minor-league options remaining.

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Hamilton has now hit the bench in four of the Red Sox's last five matchups, with Boston facing three lefties and two righties during that stretch. The Red Sox have continued to rotate a number of players at second base, as Romy Gonzalez, Marcelo Mayer (personal) and Nick Sogard have also seen starts at the position within the past week. Mayer could end up settling in as the primary option at the keystone when Alex Bregman (quadriceps) returns from the injured list and steps back in as the Red Sox's everyday third baseman.

The Yankees activated Stroman (knee) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Sunday against the Athletics at Yankee Stadium.

For the first time since April 11, Stroman will be taking the hill for the Yankees after an inflamed left knee kept him on the shelf for more than two and a half months. According to Ronald Blum of the Associated Press, Stroman said that his knee pain stemmed from a torn ACL suffered a decade earlier, and the right-hander could continue to require treatment in between starts to handle the rigors of the long season. After the extended downtime, Stroman didn't look especially sharp during his three-start rehab assignment at Double-A Somerset, as he turned in a 6.97 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB over 10.1 innings. Stroman built up to 65 pitches in his final start with Somerset and could be operating with a light workload restriction in his return to the Yankees rotation Sunday.
