Stanton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Stanton had served as the Yankees' designated hitter for each of the previous three games, marking the first time since being activated from the 60-day injured list June 16 that he had started more than two contests in a row. He'll be back on the bench Sunday, and Stanton could continue to get at least two or three games off per week if he's unable to get going at the dish. After returning from the IL with a pair of two-hit performances, Stanton has gone 4-for-26 with no extra-base hits and a 4:10 BB:K over his subsequent eight contests.

LeMahieu is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

LeMahieu started the previous three games and will receive Sunday off after going 3-for-10 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Oswald Peraza will take over at the keystone Sunday for the Yankees.

Wells is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Wells will retreat to the bench during Sunday's day game, enabling Ben Rice to pick up a start behind the plate. The 25-year-old backstop has cooled down considerably at the dish of late, going just 5-for-33 (.152 average) with a 27.8 percent strikeout rate over his last 10 games.

Wynns is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

The Athletics released a lineup earlier Sunday that featured Wynns at catcher, but Willie MacIver will instead get the nod behind the plate for the series finale. The team hasn't indicated that Wynns' removal from the lineup was the result of any injury or illness, so the veteran backstop is presumably just getting a breather. The duo have alternated starts at catcher over the last eight games, but with Shea Langeliers (oblique) likely to return from the injured list during the upcoming week, Wynns could lose his spot on the roster.

Rutschman (oblique) said Sunday that he's improving, but he admitted that he's uncertain if he'll be activated from the 10-day injured list for the Orioles' first game following the All-Star break, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Interim manager Tony Mansolino previously ruled Rutschman out for the remainder of the first half but expressed optimism that the catcher would be ready to go after the break. Since being placed on the IL on June 21, the backstop has been able to do some throwing, but he has yet to resume swinging a bat, according to Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun. Until Rutschman proves that he can hit against high-velocity pitching without any discomfort, a firm target date for his return will be elusive.

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said that Eflin (back) is "trending toward an IL" stint, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Baltimore will likely evaluate Eflin over the next 24 hours before making a decision, but since the All-Star break is looming and he previously spent time on the injured list in 2023 and 2024 due to back issues, the club will likely exercise caution with the right-hander. Eflin was removed from his start Saturday due to a lower-back strain, but he told Jake Rill of MLB.com that the injury first cropped up in his pregame bullpen session. With Cade Povich on track to return from the injured list early next week, the Orioles already have a ready replacement for Eflin in the rotation.

The Blue Jays placed Schultz on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right middle finger inflammation.

Schultz's finger issue presumably cropped up during his appearance in the Blue Jays' 15-1 loss to the Red Sox on Saturday, when he retired just four of the 10 batters he faced while allowing three earned runs on five hits and one walk. The Blue Jays recalled Justin Bruihl from Triple-A Buffalo to join the bullpen as a replacement for Schultz, who won't be eligible to return until after the All-Star break.

Westburg (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

The 26-year-old aggravated the injury to his left index finger Friday after missing a few games earlier in the week, and he'll sit Sunday for a second consecutive contest. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, interim manager Tony Mansolino said Westburg will play catch and swing a bat prior to Sunday's contest, and the expectation is that the infielder will be back in the lineup within the next couple of days. Ramon Urias will receive another start at the hot corner for Baltimore on Sunday.

The Blue Jays recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.

The 28-year-old lefty will join the Toronto bullpen as a replacement for Paxton Schultz, who was placed on the 15-day injured list due to finger inflammation. Bruihl has made two relief appearances for Toronto but has otherwise spent the bulk of the 2025 season at Buffalo, posting a 3.68 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 37:12 K:BB across 29.1 Triple-A innings.

Straw is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

After making four starts in center field over a five-game stretch from last Saturday through Thursday, Straw now finds himself on the bench for the second time in three contests. With Nathan Lukes getting more opportunities in center field since being activated from the injured list last weekend, Straw might have to settle for the short side of a platoon at the position until Daulton Varsho (hamstring) returns from the IL.
