Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Remains out Tuesday
Bichette (knee) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Yankees.
Bichette was a late scratch from the lineup ahead of Monday's 5-4 win after tweaking his right knee when he stepped on a baseball during batting practice. He'll miss a second straight start Tuesday and is considered day-to-day. Leo Jimenez will start at shortstop and bat ninth for the Blue Jays.

Leonardo Jimenez 3B | MIA
Blue Jays' Leo Jimenez: Summoned from Triple-A
The Blue Jays recalled Jimenez from Triple-A Buffalo, and he will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Tuesday's game against the Yankees.
With Bo Bichette tending to a knee injury and considered day-to-day, Jimenez will move up to the big leagues to provide some added depth in the middle infield. Though Jimenez will be thrust into the lineup right away Tuesday, Ernie Clement could end up serving as the Blue Jays' primary option at shortstop if Bichette ends up requiring a stint on the injured list. Jimenez posted a .687 OPS over 63 games for Toronto in 2024 but has played exclusively in the minors so far this season and slashed .271/.417/.333 over 60 plate appearances with Buffalo prior to his call-up.

Trey Sweeney SS | DET
Tigers' Trey Sweeney: Heading back to big leagues
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Tuesday that Sweeney will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo, Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio reports.
He'll take the roster spot of Kerry Carpenter (hamstring), who is headed to the 10-day injured list. Sweeney was just sent down to Toledo over the weekend after putting up a .594 OPS in 225 plate appearances. The young shortstop will likely operate in a reserve role.

Kerry Carpenter RF | DET
Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Will go on IL with hamstring injury
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Tuesday that Carpenter (hamstring) will be placed on the 10-day injured list, Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio reports.
Carpenter has dealt with a right hamstring issue off and on since the beginning of June, and he aggravated the injury during Sunday's game against the Twins. Hinch indicated that the Tigers are being conservative in putting Carpenter on the IL, suggesting that the MRI the 27-year-old underwent Monday didn't show significant damage. Carpenter will be eligible for activation July 11, but with the All-Star break looming shortly after that, he could be held out until the start of the second half.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Plays hero in three-RBI night
Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Monday's win over the Yankees.
After getting the Blue Jays on the board in the fifth inning with an RBI groundout, Guerrero capped a four-run sixth with an absolute rocket past Jazz Chisholm at third base to bring home two more, a ball that left his bat with an exit velocity of 115.7 mph. Guerrero puts a very productive June in the books having slashed .290/.383/.516 with nine doubles, four homers, three steals, 18 runs and 18 RBI in 25 games.

Braydon Fisher RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Strikes out side for third hold
Fisher walked one and struck out three in a scoreless seventh inning Monday to record his third hold of the season in a win over the Yankees.
The Blue Jays needed five relievers to complete the final four innings, and Fisher was the most effective of the bunch as the carved up the bottom of New York's order after Toronto took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Fisher went the entire month of June without allowing a run, delivering a 0.68 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB over 13.1 innings, and two of his three holds have come in the last week as he works his way into a higher-leverage role in the bullpen.

Chad Green RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Chad Green: Collects fifth hold
Green walked one batter in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning to record his fifth hold of the season during Monday's win over the Yankees.
The veteran righty got the final two outs in the eighth inning before handing the ball off to closer Jeff Hoffman for the ninth. It was Green's first hold since May 22 as his exposure to high-leverage spots has been limited, and he wrapped up June with a 4.35 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 7:4 K:BB over 10.1 innings. With Yimi Garcia (shoulder) set to return this week, Green will likely remain in a middle-relief role rather than being part of Toronto's regular setup crew.

Gregory Santos RP | SF
Mariners' Gregory Santos: Throwing light bullpen sessions
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Monday that Santos (knee) threw three "light bullpens" last week, Circling Seattle Sports reports.
The hope is that Santos can return to the Mariners' bullpen before the end of July, but it's a rough timeline. Santos has been sidelined since late April with right knee inflammation and will need a rehab assignment before being activated from the 60-day injured list.

Austin Wells C | NYY
Yankees' Austin Wells: Nursing artery damage in finger
Wells said after Monday's 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays that he is dealing with arterial damage in his left index finger, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Wells revealed that the damage to an artery -- which is believed to be the result of repeated impacts of catching pitches -- means the finger sometimes "gets cold and changes colors." Tests have ruled out blood clots, and the issue is not considered a long-term concern. Wells will remain out of the lineup for a third straight game Tuesday but is expected to start Wednesday's contest.

Max Scherzer SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Max Scherzer: Dealt with thumb fatigue Monday
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said that Scherzer dealt with some fatigue in his right thumb during Monday's start versus the Yankees, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
The thumb fatigue helps explain why Scherzer was lifted after throwing just 71 pitches over five innings. Schneider indicated that Scherzer should be fine for his next turn in the rotation on Saturday versus the Angels, but it appears the 40-year-old right-hander isn't completely out of the woods when it comes to an issue Scherzer has said he's been dealing with since 2023.
