  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Collects first major-league save

Fisher earned the save during the Blue Jays' 6-5 win over the Orioles on Friday, when he tossed a scoreless ninth inning without giving up a hit or walk. Louis Varland and Jeff Hoffman both pitched in the Blue Jays' last two games, so manager John Schneider turned to Fisher to protect a one-run lead in the ninth. The right-hander got the first two batters out before Gunnar Henderson reached base safely on an error by Ernie Clement, but Fisher secured the first save of his major-league career by getting Adley Rutschman to ground out. Fisher has not allowed a run over his last eight innings and sits at a 2.48 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 33:12 K:BB with two wins and six holds across 32.2 frames this season.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Working as opener Tuesday

Fisher will serve as the opener for Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Fisher will step into the opener role for a third time this season. He'll work the first inning or so before handing the ball to a bulk reliever, presumably Spencer Miles.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Will work as opener Friday

Fisher will work as the opener Friday against the Diamondbacks, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. The righty will work ahead of bulk reliever Eric Lauer. Fisher has appeared in eight games out of the bullpen for Toronto this season, posting a microscopic 0.93 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 12:1 K:BB across 9.2 innings. Fisher pitched Tuesday and Wednesday this week, and his season high for pitches in a game is 32, so he's unlikely to work more than an inning or two.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Continues strong start to season

Fisher struck out four over two scoreless innings of relief in Friday's win over the Twins. He didn't allow a hit or walk but did hit a batter with a pitch. It was effectively mop-up duty, as Fisher worked the final two frames of a 10-4 victory, but it continued an impressive stretch for the 25-year-old righty to begin the season. Through six appearances and 8.1 innings, Fisher boasts a 0.00 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB with two holds, but he remains behind Jeff Hoffman, Tyler Rogers and Louis Varland in the pecking order for high-leverage work from the right side.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Not guaranteed bullpen spot

Fisher is a candidate to begin the season at Triple-A Buffalo, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports. The 25-year-old right-hander hasn't done anything this spring to lose his spot in the bullpen, posting a 1.59 ERA and 8:2 K:BB over 5.2 innings, but Fisher could be caught in a numbers game. With Eric Lauer now needed in the rotation due to injuries to Trey Yesavage (shoulder), Shane Bieber (forearm) and Jose Berrios (elbow), someone like Lazaro Estrada could claim a spot as the long reliever, while Rule 5 pick Angel Bastardo has also made a strong case for a bullpen job. Fisher and Mason Fluharty both have minor-league options remaining, but Fluharty is a left-hander, giving him a little more job security. As a rookie in 2025, Fisher posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 62:19 K:BB over 50 innings in a middle-relief role with seven wins and five holds in 52 appearances.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Recalled from Triple-A

The Blue Jays recalled Fisher from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports. Fisher has twirled 5.1 shutout innings since he was demoted to Triple-A on Aug. 20. In a corresponding move, Toronto optioned Dillon Tate to Buffalo.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Strikes out side for third hold

Fisher walked one and struck out three in a scoreless seventh inning Monday to record his third hold of the season in a win over the Yankees. The Blue Jays needed five relievers to complete the final four innings, and Fisher was the most effective of the bunch as the carved up the bottom of New York's order after Toronto took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Fisher went the entire month of June without allowing a run, delivering a 0.68 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB over 13.1 innings, and two of his three holds have come in the last week as he works his way into a higher-leverage role in the bullpen.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Notches first MLB win

Fisher (1-0) picked up the win Thursday, recording the final out in the top of the 11th inning in a 7-6 victory over the Padres. Brendon Little allowed the phantom runner to score in both the 10th and 11th frames, but Fisher retired Elias Diaz to close out the 11th and then fell into the win column when the Blue Jays scored twice in the bottom of the inning. It was Fisher's first career win in the majors in his fifth appearance, and the 24-year-old righty has been very effective so far in a low-leverage role, posting a 0.00 ERA, 0.56 WHIP and 6:0 K:BB in 5.1 innings.

  • Blue Jays' Braydon Fisher: Dealt to Toronto

The Blue Jays acquired Fisher from the Dodgers on Wednesday in exchange for utility man Cavan Biggio, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Toronto didn't have much leverage in any trade discussions pertaining to Biggio after designating him for assignment over the weekend, but the club was at least able to get back an interesting minor-league reliever in Fisher. A 2018 fourth-round pick, Fisher has split the 2024 campaign between Triple-A Oklahoma City and Double-A Tulsa, striking out 30 batters over just 19 innings but also issuing 15 walks and compiling a bloated 5.68 ERA. The Blue Jays haven't revealed whether Fisher will be immediately assigned to Triple-A Buffalo or Double-A New Hampshire.
