Dobbins (elbow) allowed one run on two hits while striking out eight over five scoreless innings for Double-A Portland on Saturday.

Dobbins was dominant and efficient in his first rehab outing, needing 62 pitches (44 strikes) to get through the five innings. The pitch count suggests he could be ready to be activated. Both Dobbins and Tanner Houck (elbow), who had an encouraging outing over the weekend for Portland, could be part of Boston's rotation in the second half.

Stallings will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against Atlanta.

After Gary Sanchez (knee) became the fourth Orioles catcher to go on the injured list Sunday, Stallings looks poised to serve as Baltimore's No. 1 backstop until one of Sanchez, Adley Rutschman (oblique), Maverick Handley (concussion) or Chadwick Tromp (back) is activated. Since getting added to the Baltimore roster Tuesday, Stallings has gone 1-for-6 with a double, a walk and two RBI in three contests.

Carter went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Padres.

Carter has stolen at least one base in three consecutive contests. He's reached base safely seven times and stolen five bags during that stretch. Carter is tied with Wyatt Langford for the team lead with 11 steals.

The Orioles transferred Mateo (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Initially placed on the IL on June 7 due to left elbow inflammation, Mateo was on the cusp of returning before he suffered a significant left hamstring strain during a rehab game with Triple-A Norfolk last Sunday. The Orioles are expecting him to miss two or more months due to the hamstring injury, so his move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline. The transaction opened up a spot on the 40-man roster for catcher Alex Jackson, acquired from the Yankees on Sunday.

The Orioles acquired Jackson from the Yankees on Sunday in exchange for $250,000 in international signing bonus pool money, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Baltimore selected Jackson's contract from Triple-A Norfolk, and he'll be available for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

With the Orioles' catching depth taking another hit after Gary Sanchez sprained his knee Saturday, Jackson was brought in to provide a much-needed healthy body behind the plate. The 29-year-old Jackson owns a .132/.224/.232 slash line in 340 plate appearances across parts of five seasons in the big leagues, and in 44 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2025, he's batted .226 with 10 home runs and a 10.4 percent walk rate. He'll temporarily settle in as Baltimore's No. 2 catcher behind Jacob Stallings, though Jackson will likely lose his spot on the 40-man roster once one of Sanchez, Adley Rutschman (oblique), Maverick Handley (concussion) or Chadwick Tromp (back) returns from the IL.

Smith started at third base and went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-4 win over San Diego.

Smith got Texas on the board early when he led off the game with his eighth home run of the season. It was the third time in 2025 that he's gone deep to lead off a contest. Smith started at third base for a second consecutive game and may find a home there against right-handers with Josh Jung having been sent down to Triple-A Round Rock. Smith has been rolling since the beginning of June, posting a .318/.387/.495 slash line with four homers, seven doubles, 10 RBI, two steals and 22 runs over 26 games.

The Orioles placed Sanchez on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a sprained right knee.

Sanchez was removed from Saturday's game with right knee pain and was sent for an MRI, which revealed a sprain. The severity of the injury isn't yet known but Sanchez will be out through at least the All-Star break, becoming the fourth Orioles catcher to hit the injured list along with Adley Rutschman (oblique), Maverick Handley (concussion) and Chadwick Tromp (back). In desperate need of depth behind the plate, the Orioles acquired Alex Jackson from the Yankees on Sunday and added him to the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster. Jacob Stallings and Jackson will serve as the Orioles' catching tandem until the team gets at least one of the injured backstops back from the IL.

Langford went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Padres.

Langford was activated from the 10-day injured list earlier in the day and slotted back into his usual spot in left field. He batted sixth in the order Saturday, but Langford was locked in as the No. 2 batter prior to his injury.

Bieber (elbow) will likely throw one more live batting practice session before resuming his rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Bieber had his rehab assignment paused a month ago over concerns about discomfort in his surgically repaired elbow, which was later deemed by doctors to be part of the normal healing process. The right-hander's played catch, thrown bullpen sessions and worked up to live BP since receiving the favorable news. Once the rehab stint resumes, a clearer return timeline should emerge for the 2020 AL Cy Young Award winner.

Severino (2-10) took the loss Saturday against the Giants, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

It's the fifth straight loss for Severino, and in the last three of those starts he's surrendered 17 earned runs, including five homers. The veteran right-hander has given up three runs or fewer in 10 of his 19 outings this season, but he's also allowed five-plus runs eight times. He has a 5.30 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 73:36 K:BB across 108.2 innings and lines up to take the mound next weekend versus the Blue Jays.
