Schneemann is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Schneemann will receive a breather after he started the first three games of the series in Chicago, including both ends of Friday's doubleheader. With Schneemann on the bench, Angel Martinez will receive a start at second base while Nolan Jones shifts to center field.

Matthews is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Matthews started at second base in his first two MLB games after being promoted Friday, and he'll take a seat after going 0-for-7 with five strikeouts. Mauricio Dubon will shift to the keystone while Zack Short receives a start at shortstop.

Vierling will start in right field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Though he'll be filling in for a resting Wenceel Perez in the series finale, Vierling could be encroaching on Parker Meadows' role as the Tigers' preferred option in center field. Since returning from the injured list June 28, Vierling had been in center against left-handed pitching, but he also received the nod over Meadows in two of the Tigers' previous four matchups with righties. Vierling has gone just 4-for-25 with a 6:6 BB:K in eight games since being activated.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Diaz will sit after a run of eight straight starts, during which he went 8-for-30 (.267) with two doubles, three homers and a stolen base. Victor Caratini will do the catching Sunday while Isaac Paredes serves as the designated hitter.

Perez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

He'll give way to Matt Vierling in right field after starting the last four games and going 4-for-13 with two walks, three runs, one RBI and one stolen base. Though he appears to be facing competition from Vierling and Parker Meadows for one of two spots in the Detroit outfield against right-handed pitching, Perez has done well to maintain steady playing time since returning from the injured list in late May. Unless he's used off the bench Sunday, Perez will head into the All-Star break with a .266/.321/.516 slash line through 38 games.

Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Heim had started the previous 16 games and wasn't productive at the plate during that stretch with a .203/.261/.313 slash line. Kyle Higashioka will replace Heim behind the dish Sunday.

Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Polanco will get a breather to close out the Mariners' first-half schedule after he had started each of the team's last seven games. Cal Raleigh will get a day off from catching and will replace Polanco at designated hitter.

Solano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

After closing June with a .408/.453/.612 slash line over his final 15 games of the month, Solano had started to earn more opportunities against right-handed pitching. However, with his bat having since cooled down -- he's gone 3-for-15 with one walk through six contests in July -- he appears to have since faded back into a short-side platoon role. Solano will be on the bench Sunday for a ninth straight matchup against a right-hander, in this case Jack Flaherty.

Burger (quadriceps) is batting seventh as the designated hitter Sunday against the Astros.

Burger departed Friday's contest due to quad discomfort and was held out of the lineup Saturday, but he's good to go for the final game before the All-Star break. The 29-year-old is batting .278 with six RBI and six runs through 10 games in July, but he has only a .389 slugging percentage thanks to one double and one homer.

Rice is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

The left-handed-hitting Rice will head to the bench for the second straight game while the Cubs send another lefty (Shota Imanaga) to the hill. Though Rice has maintained a .795 OPS through six games in July and owns a 134 wRC+ versus opposite-handed pitching this season, the Yankees have yet to commit to using the 26-year-old as a full-time player against righties. Rice was on the bench for three of the Yankees' previous five matchups versus righty starters, with Paul Goldschmidt occupying first base in each of the contests that Rice was out of the lineup.
