Rodriguez turned in a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Sunday's 8-6 win over San Francisco.

With Jeff Hoffman having pitched in the Jays' previous two games, it was Rodriguez who got the call in the ninth Sunday. The right-hander made quick work of the Giants, retiring the side on just seven pitches, to extend his scoreless streak to 7.2 innings while picking up his second save of the year. The 28-year-old Rodriguez has impressed in a setup role this season, working to a 2.37 ERA with a 0.91 WHIP and 48:16 K:BB across 49.1 innings.

Schlittler (arm) said he felt good after Saturday's bullpen session and is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The right-hander was originally scheduled to start Friday's second-half opener against Atlanta, but he was pushed back due to arm soreness. Schlittler didn't have any issues during the bullpen session, clearing the way for him to rejoin the starting rotation during the upcoming week. The 24-year-old gave up three earned runs with a 7:2 K:BB over 5.1 frames in his major-league debut July 9 versus Seattle.

Berrios (6-4) earned the win Sunday over the Giants, allowing four runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

Berrios was solid early, holding San Francisco to one run through his first four innings, though he'd allow another three runs in his final 1.2 frames, capped by a Matt Chapman two-run homer with two outs in the sixth. Despite the rocky finish, Berrios eventually came away with the win, his fourth in his last six outings. The right-hander sports a 3.87 ERA through 21 starts (121 innings) this season with a 1.26 WHIP and 102:42 K:BB. Berrios is currently lined up to face the Tigers on the road his next time out.

Springs (8-7) took the loss Sunday against Cleveland, allowing five runs on nine hits over four innings. He struck out four and did not issue a walk.

Springs got off to a rocky start, giving up a run before registering an out in the first inning. Things unraveled further in the fourth, when he allowed the bases to load up and then served up a bases-clearing double to David Fry, turning a manageable deficit into a decisive blow. The loss snaps a short streak of quality outings for the left-hander, whose ERA has now climbed to 4.18 with a 1.22 WHIP and 90:38 K:BB over 114 innings this season.

Williams (6-4) earned the win Sunday against the Athletics, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out 11 over seven innings.

Williams was in complete control from the jump, racking up seven strikeouts over the first three innings alone and finishing the day with season highs in both punchouts and innings pitched. The 24-year-old right-hander bounced back in impressive fashion, particularly with his command, after issuing 12 walks over his previous three starts entering Sunday. He'll carry a 3.54 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 106:58 K:BB into his next outing, scheduled for Friday against the Royals, and he'll look to build on this momentum as the second half of the season unfolds.

The Astros transferred Rodgers (nose/concussion/oblique) to the 60-day injured list Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The veteran second baseman suffered a nasal fracture and a concussion from a collision Saturday during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land, and Houston didn't waste much time before shifting him to the 60-day IL. Rodgers appears to have recovered from the oblique strain that put him on the IL in mid-June, but it's unclear how long the recent injuries will sideline him. He'll be eligible to be reinstated in mid-August.

The Astros optioned Salazar to Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Salazar has been up with the Astros as a third catcher since early May, though he's played in just eight games and gone 1-for-7 during his two-plus months in the majors. The 29-year-old is likely to stick with Sugar Land as long as Yainer Diaz and Victor Caratini stay healthy.

Schanuel was removed from Sunday's game against the Phillies due to a left wrist contusion.

The 23-year-old was hit by a pitch during the top of the first inning and remained in to run the bases, but he was replaced in the field for the bottom of the frame. The initial diagnosis of a bruise is encouraging, and Schanuel should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus the Mets.

Short was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners due to rib soreness, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Short was hit by a pitch during Saturday's contest and will be withheld from Sunday's starting nine after initially being penciled in at shortstop. Mauricio Dubon will cover shortstop for Houston while Shay Whitcomb starts at third base.

Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Buxton clubbed his 22nd homer of the season during Friday's contest but will receive Sunday off after going 0-for-5 with two strikeouts during Saturday's loss. Harrison Bader will receive the start in center field and bat seventh for the Twins.
