Cooper Hummel LF | HOU
Astros' Cooper Hummel: Handling part-time role
Hummel will start in left field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Though he'll be included in the lineup Wednesday while Jose Altuve gets a breather for a day game after a night game, Hummel has faded into more of a part-time role in recent weeks. He's picking up his fourth start in nine games while the likes of Chas McCormick and Taylor Trammell have been prioritized ahead of him in the outfield.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Angels' Jorge Soler: Exits game with injury
Soler was removed from Wednesday's game against the Mets in the third inning with an undisclosed injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Soler has been dealing with a back issue recently, so it's possible that injury is still lingering and flared up on him. He struck out in his lone plate appearance before exiting. The Angels should have more on Soler's condition shortly.

Cal Raleigh C | SEA
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Taking seat Wednesday
Raleigh is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Brewers.
Raleigh slugged his 39th home run of the season for the game's only run in Tuesday's 1-0 victory, but he will get some well-deserved rest during Wednesday's matinee. The All-Star catcher is getting just his second day off since June 9. Mitch Garver will step in behind the plate and bat sixth for the Mariners in the series finale.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Downplays leg issue
Witt said that the knee injury he appeared to sustain during a plate appearance in Tuesday's 6-0 loss to the Cubs isn't a concern, and his absence from the lineup for Wednesday's series finale is more of a rest day, Pete Grathoff of The Kansas City Star reports.
Witt added that he could have played Wednesday if needed, but because of the quick turnaround for the matinee contest in addition to a team off day Thursday, the Royals will err on the side of caution and hold him out of the lineup. Maikel Garcia will slide over from his usual spot at third base to cover shortstop in place of Witt, who is on the bench for the first time all season. Witt is expected to rejoin the Royals' starting nine Friday against the Guardians.

Travis Adams RP | MIN
Twins' Travis Adams: Recalled from Triple-A
The Twins recalled Adams from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.
Adams is taking the roster spot vacated by David Festa (shoulder), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. The right-hander could slide into Festa's rotation spot this weekend versus the Nationals if he's not needed in relief before then. Bailey Ober (hip) is likely to return from the IL next week, so Adams could be in line for just one start if he enters the rotation. Adams has struggled in three relief outings with the big club this season, yielding seven runs (six earned) with a 6:1 K:BB over nine innings.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Royals' Jonathan India: Getting Wednesday off
India is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
India appears to be getting a routine day off for the matinee contest after he had started in each of the Royals' last 30 games. Adam Frazier will replace India at second base and atop the batting order in the series finale in Chicago.

David Festa P | MIN
Twins' David Festa: Placed on IL with shoulder issue
The Twins placed Festa on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to right shoulder inflammation.
Festa struggled in his most recent start Monday against the Dodgers, allowing three home runs and four runs over 5.1 innings. It's not clear, however, whether his shoulder was bothering him during the outing. The right-hander will be eligible for activation Aug. 6, but the Twins won't have a clear idea regarding when he might return until he starts throwing again.
