Bowlan was called up from Triple-A Omaha and will serve as the Royals' 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against Cleveland.

Bowlan owns a 4.64 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 21.1 innings with the Royals this season. The 28-year-old will likely be demoted back to Triple-A following Saturday's twin bill.

Guerrero went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's win over the Tigers.

The first baseman has hit safely in seven straight games and has banged out at least one two-bagger in three straight, batting .483 (14-for-29) over those seven contests with a homer, seven RBI and nine runs. Guerrero's .846 OPS on the year is the highest it's been since the second game of the season, although it's still well short of his .940 mark from 2024, while his .291 batting average is at its highest point since mid-May.

Lorenzen (oblique) has been playing catch for over a week but has yet to resume throwing bullpen sessions as of Friday, MLB.com reports.

Lorenzen is eligible to return from the 15-day injured list at any point, but he looks like he still has a few checkpoints to hit in his recovery from an oblique strain before the Royals deem him fit to rejoin the rotation. Kansas City called up Rich Hill from Triple-A Omaha shortly after the All-Star break, and the 45-year-old lefty could occupy the fifth spot in the rotation until Lorenzen is ready for activation.

Manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that Judge is dealing with an elbow issue, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Boone added that Judge had trouble throwing the ball in from the outfield during Friday's game against Philadelphia, so the Yankees brought him in for imaging and will hold him out of Saturday's contest. More information regarding the severity of his injury will be available once the results of his tests come back, but he can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Rafaela started at second base and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers.

The All-Star break appears to have put a cooler on Rafaela's bat. He entered the break on a 19-game heater, during which he had a 1.141 OPS with seven home runs, nine doubles and 20 RBI. Since returning, Rafaela's gone 6-for-27 (.222) with zero extra-base hits or RBI over seven games in the second half. His start Friday was his second consecutive at the keystone. With Marcelo Mayer (wrist) on the 10-day injured list, Rafaela could see more playing at second base.

Loperfido went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 6-2 win over the Tigers.

Getting the start in left field and batting seventh, Loperfido did his part in a balanced Blue Jays 13-hit attack that saw every starter except Will Wagner collect at least one knock. The steal was Loperfido's first in the majors this season in 14 contests, but it might be his last -- with Daulton Varsho (hamstring) closing in on his return, the 26-year-old might be battling with Davis Schneider to avoid getting bumped back to Triple-A Buffalo. Loperfido has made a strong case to stick around, batting .351 (13-for-37) with two homers and seven RBI since his early-July promotion.

Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

Torkelson took Toronto starter Jose Berrios deep in the sixth inning for his 23rd home run of the season. After hitting zero homers in his first six games after the All-Star break, the slugger has now gone deep on consecutive days. Torkelson is known to be a streaky power hitter, so fantasy managers could be in for a homer binge at the moment.

Montero (4-3) allowed six runs (five earned) on nine hits across four innings to take the loss Friday against the Blue Jays. He struck out three.

Montero ran into a hot Toronto team and continued his recent stretch of poor performances. Over his last three outings, he's been tagged for 12 earned runs across 11.1 innings. In his three prior starts, Montero had looked a lot better, allowing just four earned runs over 16 innings. Overall, the 25-year-old has a 4.66 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 53 strikeouts across 73.1 innings this year. With Troy Melton getting called up for his MLB debut Wednesday. the Tigers could have some competition for the No. 5 spot in their rotation moving forward. That could squeeze Montero out, though he's also a candidate to start again in the near future if Melton struggles or if another starter sustains an injury.

Berrios (7-4) picked up the win Friday in a 6-2 victory over the Tigers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

The veteran righty needed 85 pitches (54 strikes) to record his 13th quality start of the season, and sixth in 10 outings since the beginning of June. Over that stretch, Berrios has produced a 3.79 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB through 57 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Baltimore.

Bello (6-5) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Dodgers, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

The right-hander didn't get much run support, but Bello didn't help his own cause in a shaky third inning that included a bases-loaded walk to Teoscar Hernandez after three straight singles. The outing snapped Bello's quality start streak at three, and it's only the second time in 10 trips to the mound since the beginning of June that he hasn't lasted six innings, a stretch in which he's delivered a 3.00 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB over 63 innings. Bello will look for a better result in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Minnesota.
