Abel will stay at Triple-A St. Paul after he was acquired from the Phillies, as the Twins want him to continue to work on tweaking his pitches, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Abel was one of Philadelphia's top prospects and was part of the return for closer Jhoan Duran. The Twins don't appear in a rush to bring him back to the majors, though the team has an opening for the fifth-starter role, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him in the majors again this season. The right-hander made six starts for the Phillies this year in his first taste of the majors and had a 5.04 ERA over 25 innings, but he's been dominant at the Triple-A level with a 2.31 ERA and 9.9 K/9 in 13 starts

Bradley will stay at Triple-A St. Paul after he was acquired from the Rays, as the Twins want him to continue to work on tweaking his pitches, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The Twins don't have a clear fifth starter at the moment, so it's possible Bradley is called up to start Tuesday at Detroit. However, the Twins so far are saying he'll stay in the minors.

Grisham went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, two additional runs scored and a walk in Friday's 13-12 loss to the Marlins.

Grisham added his 19th homer of the season, and he crossed the plate at least three times on his second occasion this year. Aaron Judge's (elbow) absence has helped solidify Grisham's everyday role, although the latter has done well in his own right to maintain that status. Across his last 30 contests, Grisham has slashed .272/.375/.495 with six big flies, five doubles and 15 RBI.

Outman will stay at Triple-A St. Paul after he was acquired from the Dodgers, as the Twins want him to return to everyday playing time and work on a possible swing adjustment, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Outman has dominated pitchers in Triple-A this season with a .970 OPS through 333 plate appearances, but he had just four hits in 39 at-bats with the Dodgers. Outman still could get called up and get a trial with Minnesota, but he's not in the team's immediate plans despite ample playing-time opportunities after the team traded away 10 players in the last week.

Volpe went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, two RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases in Friday's 13-12 loss to the Marlins.

It was Volpe's first game of the year with either four hits or two stolen bases. The 24-year-old shortstop has a middling .718 OPS on the year, but he remains locked into an everyday role and is beginning to heat up of late. Over his last 13 outings, Volpe is hitting .298 with seven homers, one double, 11 RBI and four steals.

Lee went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Friday's 3-2 loss against the Guardians.

Lee had been serving in a utility infield role in recent weeks, but he's poised to serve as the Twins' everyday shortstop moving forward after Carlos Correa was traded to Houston on Thursday. While seeing sporadic playing time for much of July, Lee slashed just .164/.219/.269 with two home runs, 11 RBI, four runs and one stolen base on the month.

Martin batted leadoff and started in center field, going 3-for-5 in Friday's loss to the Guardians.

Martin has a chance to earn everyday playing time in the outfield after the Twins traded several starters at the trade deadline. While he had an unimpressive .670 OPS in 93 games last year in the majors, he slashed .319/.431/.398 with two stolen bases and a 21:17 BB:K across 137 plate appearances with Triple-A St. Paul this season.

Topa is likely to be used as the primary setup man ahead of new closer Cole Sands after the Twins traded most of their bullpen Thursday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He allowed a hit in a scoreless seventh inning in Friday's 3-2 loss against the Guardians.

Topa was used in the seventh inning with the Twins tied 2-2, which was a high-leverage role, though he was not being used with a lead. Still, Baldelli's comments show Topa will have an increased role in the bullpen and could be a candidate for save chances if Sands struggles.

Sands will likely work as the primary closer after the trades of Jhoan Duran, Griffin Jax and Louis Varland, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli told Sands and Justin Topa to be prepared for late-inning high-leverage roles.

Sands had a breakout season as a reliever in 2024, but he's taken a step back this season with just an 18.8 percent strikeout rate, down from 29.1 percent last season. He's had the most success of the remaining bullpen arms, so he'll likely get a decent trial in the role. Topa will become the primary setup man.

Doval (4-3) was charged with the loss and a blown save in Friday's 13-12 loss to the Marlins, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk with no strikeouts in one-third of an inning.

Doval disappointed in his Yankees debut, taking his fifth blown save of the season. The hierarchy of New York's new-look bullpen following the acquisition of David Bednar is not entirely settled, though it's worth noting that Doval has struggled quite a bit recently and is seeing his fantasy stock drop. Since the start of June, the right-hander has a 5.64 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 28:16 K:BB across 22.1 innings.
