Cecconi didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Mets, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out six.

Cecconi blanked the Mets through five scoreless frames to begin his outing, but a Pete Alonso three-run homer in the sixth inning left a considerable dent on the hurler's ledger. The right-hander settled for a quality start, his fifth in his last six appearances, and he's now tossed at least five innings in all but two of his 14 starts on the year. Cecconi owns a quality 3.72 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 69:23 K:BB over 82.1 innings, and he should carry plenty of streaming appeal this weekend on the road against the last-place White Sox.

Povich (2-6) took the loss against the Phillies on Monday, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Povich entered the sixth inning in a 3-3 tie and departed an out shy of a quality start after allowing a single to J.T. Realmuto, who went on to score the first run in what became an eight-run rally by the Phillies. On the bright side, the southpaw tossed 90 pitches in his first major-league start since June 15, generating 10 whiffs and allowing just five hard-hit balls. He'll carry a 5.25 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 75:24 K:BB across 70.1 innings into a home matchup with the Athletics this weekend.

Arrighetti (thumb) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday against the Marlins, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

As expected, Arrighetti will rejoin the Houston rotation for its series in Miami to make his first start at the big-league level since April 5, after he suffered a fractured right thumb just a couple days later that sent him to the injured list. During his three-start rehab assignment between Double-A Corpus Christi and Triple-A Sugar Land, Arrighetti logged a 5.73 ERA and 11:5 K:BB in 11 innings. In his final rehab outing this past Thursday, Arrighetti built up to 79 pitches, so he could be in store for a light workload restriction Wednesday.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 8-2 victory over the Marlins.

The Houston backstop picked up his 16th two-bagger of the season off Miami starter Sandy Alcantara in the fourth inning to plate two runs. Diaz has been a steady contributor since the All-Star break, hitting .300 (18-for-60) with five doubles, two homers, nine RBI and seven runs scored across 16 contests. The 26-year-old is slashing .255/.284/.420 with 15 homers, 47 RBI and 40 runs scored in 401 total plate appearances.

Pena went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, one RBI and a run scored in Monday's 8-2 win at Miami.

The Houston shortstop occupied his usual leadoff spot and cracked a couple of two-baggers off Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara to reach the 20-double mark for the fourth consecutive season. Since returning from a rib injury Aug. 1, Pena has gone 5-for-13 across three contests. Through 85 total games and 364 plate appearances, the 27-year-old is now slashing .324/.380/.491 with 11 homers, 49 runs scored and 41 RBI while going 15-for-17 on steal attempts.

Alexander (2-1) earned the win Monday at Miami, yielding three hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

The 32-year-old right-hander stymied the Marlins lineup in this magnificent 97-pitch performance to tally his second quality start of the season. Miami never threatened to score off Alexander, who allowed just one extra-base hit -- a Graham Pauley double in the third. Across four starts, Alexander has pitched to a 3.57 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB in 22.2 innings. Despite his steady work, he's likely to lose his rotation spot soon as the Astros have starters Spencer Arrighetti (thumb), Luis Garcia (elbow), Cristian Javier (elbow), Lance McCullers (blister) and Brandon Walter (elbow) all working their ways back from injuries soon.

Wallner went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 6-3 loss at Detroit.

The Minnesota outfielder opened the game's scoring with a 420-foot blast to center off Tigers starter Casey Mize in the first. This marks his second long ball since the All-Star break, as Wallner has found a groove in the second half, hitting .267 (12-for-45) with 11 RBI, 10 runs scored and 11 walks across 16 games. In 259 total plate appearances, the 27-year-old is now slashing .217/.324/.493 with 30 runs scored and 26 RBI over 71 games.

Vest was not used in Monday's 6-3 win over the Twins, with Kyle Finnegan instead recording the save for the Tigers with a clean ninth inning.

Finnegan, who came over from the Nationals in a trade last week, has now recorded Detroit's last two saves. Vest worked the eighth inning ahead of Finnegan on Saturday and then didn't appear the last two days, though he did log a total of 29 pitches across outings on Friday and Saturday. It appears that Finnegan might be moving ahead of Vest as the Tigers' top closing option, but the situation remains fluid as manager A.J. Hinch is known to mix and match at the end of games. At the very least, Vest's fantasy value has taken a hit with the arrival of Finnegan, as the former is no longer a lock to see save chances.

The Minnesota rookie fared well in his first career start after logging four relief appearances this season. Adams generated an astounding 16 whiffs out his 63 total pitches against a Detroit squad that entered the contest ranked sixth in total runs scored. The lone blemish on the right-hander's performance was a two-run homer given up to Wenceel Perez in the fifth. Given this impressive outing, it's possible the Twins decide to give Adams more starts in the future. Across 17.1 total frames, the 25-year-old sports a 6.75 ERA, 3.63 FIP, 1.38 WHIP and 16:3 K:BB.

Dingler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-3 win over the Twins.

Dingler was one of three Detroit players to go deep as the Tigers rallied from an early 2-0 hole to secure the win. The 26-year-old catcher is having a productive sophomore campaign, as he's now up to 10 home runs to go along with a .749 OPS across 85 games. Last year, Dingler posted just a .505 OPS in 27 regular-season games as he served primarily in a backup role, but he's emerged as Detroit's clear top backstop in 2025 due to his improved offensive output.
