    Santana will begin Saturday's game in the dugout despite logging four RBI during Friday's win. He has performed well at the plate over his last 10 games, going 10-for-33 (.303) with two doubles and seven RBI over that span. C.J. Kayfus will start at first base and bat seventh.

    The Athletics recalled Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

    With Luis Severino (oblique) headed for the IL, Harris will return to the big club to provide the team with extra bullpen depth while the A's work out who will take the open rotation spot. The 28-year-old southpaw owns a 4.35 ERA through 41.1 innings in the majors this season and will likely be limited to middle-relief duties.

    Angels' Bryce Teodosio: Not playing Saturday

    Teodosio (head) is absent from the starting lineup against Detroit on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

    Teodosio injured his head after colliding against the outfield wall while making a catch in the third inning of Friday's game. He'll sit for Saturday's game and will look to return for Sunday's series finale. Taylor Ward, Jo Adell and Gustavo Campero will start in the outfield from left to right for the Halos.

    Athletics' Luis Severino: Lands on IL

    The Athletics placed Severino on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain.

    Severino gave up three earned runs over six innings Tuesday en route to securing his fourth consecutive win, but he appears to have come away from his last start with oblique problems. He'll now miss at least two turns through the rotation, and the A's will promote Hogan Harris from Triple-A to fill the open roster spot.

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Getting rest day

    Moore is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Tigers on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

    Moore was reinstated from the 10-day injured list this past Sunday and will get a breather after playing in the Angels' last five games, going 3-for-16 (.188) with three runs and four walks over that span. Luis Rengifo will start at the keystone and bat seventh.

    Royals' Adam Frazier: Not starting Saturday

    Frazier is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Twins on Saturday.

    Frazier will take a seat after going 0-for-4 in Friday's series opener. Randal Grichuk, Kyle Isbel and Mike Yastrzemski will start in the outfield from left to right for the Royals on Saturday. Frazier has gone 5-for-24 (.208) with one home run and four RBI in seven games since the beginning of August.

    Montgomery is absent from Saturday's starting lineup against the Guardians.

    Montgomery will be on the bench for the beginning of Saturday's AL Central game while Jacob Amaya starts at shortstop and bats eighth. Over his last 10 games, Montgomery has gone 8-for-39 (.205) with five home runs and 11 RBI.

    Tauchman is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Guardians on Saturday.

    The lefty-hitting Tauchman will be on the bench to begin Saturday's game while Corey Julks, Luis Robert and Michael Taylor man the outfield from left to right. Tauchman has offered mixed results at the plate of late, going 2-for-18 with six walks, one home run, two RBI and seven strikeouts over his last five games.

    Benintendi is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Guardians on Saturday.

    Benintendi has faced southpaws this season, but he'll get a breather against Joey Cantillo while Corey Julks, Luis Robert and Michael Taylor man the outfield from left to right for the White Sox. In the 17 games since the All-Star break, Benintendi has slashed .200/.273/.371 with three home runs and nine RBI over 77 plate appearances.
