Anthony Volpe SS | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Smacks three-run homer in easy win
Volpe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 9-1 win over the Twins.
The speedy shortstop belted his 18th homer of the year, and he tallied at least three RBI for the seventh time in 2025. While Volpe has a middling .708 OPS for the campaign, he remains well within striking distance of a 20-20 season. Over his last 133 at-bats (36 games), he's slugging .436 with 13 extra-base hits, 21 RBI and six stolen bases despite a .195 batting average.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Goes yard in four-hit attack
Stanton went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-1 win over the Twins.
The four hits established a season high for the 35-year-old veteran slugger, who matched a season high in RBI while launching his 12th homer of the year. Stanton has now played right field in four games, and his move back to the outfield should bode well for his chances of seeing more playing time down the stretch. He's slashing a potent .320/.391/.699 with each of his 12 long balls, three doubles and 31 RBI over 115 plate appearances since the start of July.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Jose Berrios: Spins 5.1 shutout frames in win
Berrios (9-4) earned the win Tuesday against the Cubs, allowing two hits and four walks in 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out three.
Tuesday marked Berrios' first scoreless start since June 27 in Boston, and the two hits allowed matched a season low. However, the four walks fell one short of tying a season high, and the right-hander has surpassed five strikeouts on just one occasion over his last eight outings. Berrios has a weak 4.95 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 30:12 K:BB across those last eight appearances (40 innings) since the start of July, though he'll try to build on Tuesday's positive showing this weekend at home versus the Rangers.

Tristan Peters CF | CHW
Rays' Tristan Peters: Back in majors
The Rays recalled Peters from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old was sent down to Triple-A on Monday, but he'll reverse course and rejoin the Rays with Taylor Walls (groin) moving to the injured list. Peters went hitless in nine tries during his first MLB stint over the weekend, and he'll presumably come off the bench most days going forward.

Taylor Walls SS | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Placed on 10-day IL
Walls (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Walls has been sidelined with a left groin strain since Saturday, and he will now be forced to spend time on the IL. Outfielder Tristan Peters was called up from Triple-A Durham to replace Walls on the major-league roster.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Nearing live at-bats
Manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that Alvarez (hand) could advance to facing live pitching this weekend, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
The veteran slugger has been ramping up his hitting progression over the past couple weeks and is now on the cusp of facing live pitching for the first time since suffering a setback with his fractured right hand over a month ago. GM Dana Brown previously said the Astros were targeting mid-August for Alvarez's return, but he'll likely need at least another week or two beyond that since he's been on the shelf since early May.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Back to hitting
Wilson (forearm) resumed a hitting progression Tuesday, Jessica Kleinschmidt of Baseball America reports.
Wilson has been prevented from hitting since suffering a left forearm fracture in late July, but it appears he's now been cleared for full baseball activities. Assuming the 23-year-old avoids any setbacks as he continues to ramp up his rehab work, he could be back with the A's within the next week or two.

Albert Suarez RP | BAL
Orioles' Albert Suarez: Gearing up as bulk reliever
Suarez (shoulder) began his rehab assignment Tuesday night at Double-A Chesapeake, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Tuesday's appearance marks Suarez's return to game action after he was placed on the injured list March 28. Although he served as the starter Tuesday, the Orioles are building the right-hander up for a bulk-relief role.

Brooks Baldwin SS | CHW
White Sox's Brooks Baldwin: On bench Tuesday
Baldwin is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.
Baldwin started the past nine games but will hit the bench Tuesday with just three hits in his last 24 at-bats, though two of those knocks were homers. Curtis Mead will start at third base with Miguel Vargas (oblique) at first in his return from the injured list.

Brooks Lee SS | MIN
Twins' Brooks Lee: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Lee is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.
Lee started the previous 11 games but will receive a day off after batting .150 (6-for-40) during that stretch. Ryan Fitzgerald will take over at shortstop Tuesday for Minnesota.
