  • Twins' Christian Vazquez: Has surgery for shoulder infection

Vazquez underwent surgery due to remove an infection from his left shoulder and will remain at his home in Florida for about two more weeks, MLB.com reports. He will be on a course of antibiotics for three weeks.

The Twins haven't ruled out Vazquez from returning this season, but that seems like a long shot given his treatment schedule and with the Twins out of the playoff hunt.

  • David Festa P | MIN

Twins' David Festa: Set to throw batting practice

Festa (shoulder) will throw a live batting practice session Saturday, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

If all goes well, he could begin a rehab assignment at some point the following week. Festa went on the 15-day injured list July 23 due to right shoulder inflammation. He later received two anti-inflammatory injections in the injured shoulder.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

    Angels' Zach Neto: X-rays negative

Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery said following Wednesday's win over the Reds that Neto is "fine" after X-rays came back negative on his left wrist, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Neto was hit by a pitch on his left wrist in the bottom of the third inning and was later removed from the game in the top of the sixth after he didn't look comfortable in his subsequent plate appearance. Oswald Peraza replaced Neto at shortstop, but it sounds like Neto is day-to-day with the Angels headed into an off day Thursday ahead of weekend set with the Cubs.

  • Tyler Ferguson RP | CHC

Athletics' Tyler Ferguson: Records second save

Ferguson picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Twins, allowing no hits and one walk with no strikeouts in a scoreless 10th inning.

The save was Ferguson's second of the year and his first since May 4 in Miami. The 31-year-old right-hander has rattled off 7.1 consecutive scoreless innings, though he likely still has work to do before the Athletics trust him in the high-leverage mix on a consistent basis following the Mason Miller trade. For the campaign, Ferguson has a 5.53 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 41:29 K:BB over 42.1 innings.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Goes deep in third straight outing

Langeliers went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Twins.

Langeliers smashed a go-ahead shot, his 28th homer of the year, in the 10th inning to give the Athletics the lead. Since returning from the injured list June 30, the slugging backstop has been on an absolute tear in the power department. Langeliers has now homered in three consecutive outings, and he's batting .309 with 18 big flies, 11 doubles and 33 RBI over his last 40 contests.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Extends hitting streak with homer

Soderstrom went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Twins.

Soderstrom extended his hitting streak to eight games, and he's also hit safely in 18 of his last 20 outings. It's been a breakout campaign for the 23-year-old slugger, who has an .817 OPS in 2025. Over his last 20 contests, Soderstrom is slashing a robust .333/.403/.609 with four long balls, seven doubles and 14 RBI covering 77 plate appearances.

  • Wyatt Langford LF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Homers, reaches five times in win

Langford went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, three walks and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Royals.

That's now three multi-hit games in Langford's last four outings, and he also homered Wednesday for the 18th time this year. It's been an up-and-down campaign for the speedy outfielder, though he's been rather reliable as a five-category fantasy contributor since the start of July. Over his last 39 games, Langford is batting .268 with five homers, 20 RBI, 24 runs scored and five stolen bases over 138 at-bats.

  • Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Goes yard in third straight game

Pasquantino went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to Texas.

Pasquantino is in the midst of a power surge, having now gone deep in three consecutive games. The first baseman had a .569 OPS through April 30, but he's been outstanding at the dish for the Royals and fantasy managers for most of the year. Since the beginning of May, Pasquantino is slashing .288/.350/.508 with 21 long balls, 18 doubles and 68 RBI covering 406 plate appearances to lift his OPS to .791 for the season.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Removed after HBP on hand

Neto was removed from Wednesday's game against the Reds in the top of the sixth inning after he was hit by a pitch on the left hand earlier in the contest, Andres Soto of MLB.com reports.

The Angels announced Neto is dealing with left wrist soreness. Neto was hit by a pitch in the third inning and didn't look comfortable in his following plate appearance in the bottom of the fifth. Oswald Peraza took over at shortstop in place of Neto in the top of the sixth. Prior to leaving, Neto went 0-for-2 at the dish. Consider him day-to-day for now, but Neto will presumably undergo further testing on his hand and wrist. The Angels have a day off Thursday ahead of a home weekend series against the Cubs.

  • Parker Messick SP | CLE

Guardians' Parker Messick: Limits Arizona in debut

Messick didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over 6.2 innings.

Starting in his MLB debut, the 24-year-old southpaw settled in after yielding an RBI single to Lourdes Gurriel in the first inning, keeping Arizona off the board the rest of the way while working deep into the contest. With the strong outing, the rookie has made a compelling case to remain in Cleveland's rotation moving forward. Messick also arrived in the majors on the heels of a solid season in Columbus, where he posted a 3.47 ERA and a 119:42 K:BB over 98.2 innings.
