Angels' Jose Soriano: Returns from restricted list
The Angels reinstated Soriano (personal) from the restricted list Sunday.
Soriano wasn't ready to rejoin the Angels after the maximum three days on the paternity list, so the club shifted him to the restricted list Saturday in a procedural move. He's slated to make his next start Monday versus the Rangers.

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Picking up third straight start
Duran will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Duran will stay in the lineup for the third game in a row after after going 2-for-8 with two doubles and three RBI in the first two. With Marcus Semien (foot) landing on the injured list Saturday, Duran could emerge as the Rangers' primary option at the keystone.

Rangers' Cody Freeman: Losing work to Jung at 3B
Freeman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Freeman will head to the bench for a second straight game with Gavin Williams taking the mound for Cleveland. He's capable of playing multiple infield and outfield spots and should have a regular role versus left-handed pitching while the Rangers navigate a rash of injuries, but his playing time against righties figures to be limited.

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Set to lose work to Higashioka
Heim is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Heim had started six of the previous seven contests, but with Kyle Higashioka returning to the lineup Wednesday after recovering from a hamstring injury, the duo will move back into a timeshare. With a .788 OPS since the All-Star break, Higashioka has handily outproduced Heim, who has posted a .638 OPS over that same stretch.

White Sox's Brooks Baldwin: Taking seat Sunday
Baldwin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Baldwin has handled a near-everyday role for much of August, but he'll head to the bench for the second time in three games while the White Sox welcome Mike Tauchman (lower body) back to the lineup following a one-game absence. Over 17 games on the month, Baldwin is slashing .314/.375/.529 with three home runs, one steal, three RBI and six runs. Look for the White Sox to continue to find ways to keep the versatile 25-year-old's bat in the lineup over the final month of the season.

Twins' Matt Wallner: Hitting bench Sunday
Wallner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Wallner doesn't yet appear to be in danger of losing a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but he'll head to the bench for the second time in four games while Kody Clemens handles right field. Since returning to action Aug. 12 after a stint on the paternity list, Wallner has gone 4-for-28 with a 36.4 percent strikeout rate in nine games.

Outman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
After starting four straight games and going 3-for-13 with two doubles, two runs, one RBI and a 1:7 BB:K, Outman will head to the bench. Austin Martin will replace Outman in left field and bat ninth.

Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Moves up from Triple-A
The Blue Jays recalled Schultz from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.
The 27-year-old righty has produced a 4.56 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 23.2 innings in 12 appearances (two starts) with Toronto this season. He'll provide the Blue Jays with a multi-inning bullpen option heading into Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Sent to Triple-A
The Blue Jays optioned Fluharty to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.
Fluharty pitched the previous two days, so the Blue Jays will send him to Buffalo in favor of a fresh bullpen arm in Paxton Schultz. Over 51 appearances with the big club this season, Fluharty has netted a 4.94 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 48:24 K:BB in 47.1 innings while collecting four wins, four holds and one save.

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Not in Sunday's lineup
Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Sosa started the previous 20 games but will receive Sunday off after going 2-for-12 with two RBI and five strikeouts in the past three contests. Miguel Vargas will shift to first base, opening up the hot corner for Curtis Mead.
