  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Exiting starting nine

Clemens is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Toronto.

Clemens is slashing only .192/.241/.321 in August and looks to be sliding back into more of a utility role, with Edouard Julien emerging as the primary first baseman against right-handers. The 29-year-old Clemens has been out of the lineup twice over the last five games, and in his three starts over that span he has played three different positions.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Taking seat Tuesday

Buxton is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Toronto.

Buxton is in the midst of a 3-for-27 slide at the plate, so he'll get a day off to regroup. James Outman will shift over to center field and Austin Martin will get a start in left field for the Twins.

  • Jovani Moran RP | BOS

Red Sox's Jovani Moran: Set to be recalled

The Red Sox will recall Moran from Triple-A Worcester prior to Tuesday's game in Baltimore, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

He'll take the roster spot vacated by Richard Fitts (biceps). Moran has made a couple relief appearances with the Red Sox this season, allowing three runs with a 5:3 K:BB over four innings. The lefty has often been used for multiple innings during his outings in the majors and minors this season, so he'll offer the bullpen some length.

  • Richard Fitts SP | STL

Red Sox's Richard Fitts: Stint on IL expected

The Red Sox will place Fitts (biceps) on the 15-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game in Baltimore, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

While Fitts seemed to avoid a serious injury when he exited Monday's appearance with right biceps tightness, the issue is bad enough to require him to miss at least a couple weeks of action. It's unclear who will slot into the rotation in Fitts' place, but Kyle Harrison, Payton Tolle and Walker Buehler are among the options.

  • Scott Blewett RP | STL

Orioles' Scott Blewett: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Orioles transferred Blewett (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The right-hander has been sidelined by elbow discomfort since July 13, and he now won't be eligible to be reinstated until mid-September. Blewett has pitched for three MLB clubs this season and has a combined 5.48 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 35:18 K:BB over 44.1 innings.

  • Matt Bowman RP | MIN

Orioles' Matt Bowman: Cleared off 40-man roster again

The Orioles designated Bowman for assignment Tuesday.

Bowman allowed two runs over 1.1 innings in his lone appearance during what was his fourth stint with the Orioles this season. He's accepted three previous outright assignments from Baltimore and could do so again.

  • Shawn Dubin RP | ARI

Orioles' Shawn Dubin: Claimed by Baltimore

The Orioles claimed Dubin off waivers from the Astros on Tuesday.

Dubin posted a 1.33 ERA over his first 18 appearances for the Astros this season before allowing 13 runs in 5.1 August innings to lose his spot on the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old will join the Orioles' bullpen, although he has not yet officially reported to the club.

  • Kyle Bradish SP | BAL

Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Activated ahead of season debut

The Orioles activated Bradish (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Bradish is set to make his season debut Tuesday against the Red Sox after completing the long road back from Tommy John surgery with an internal brace. The right-hander posted a 4.91 ERA and 25:8 K:BB over 22 innings covering six rehab starts. Bradish threw 89 pitches during his final rehab outing, so he should be prepared to take on a fairly normal workload Tuesday.

  • Fernando Cruz RP | NYY

Yankees' Fernando Cruz: Reinstated from injured list

The Yankees activated Cruz (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Cruz wound up missing two months of action with a strained left oblique but is ready to go following a brief rehab assignment. It's a big boost to the Yankees' bullpen, as Cruz boasts a 3.00 ERA and elite 41.2 percent strikeout rate in 2025.

  • Jake Meyers CF | HOU

Astros' Jake Meyers: Beginning rehab assignment

Manager Joe Espada said Meyers (calf) will report to Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday to begin a rehab assignment, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The outfielder landed on the shelf with a calf strain just before the All-Star break in July and is now entering the final stage of his rehab program. Depending how many games Meyers needs to get back up to speed, he could rejoin the Astros as early as this weekend versus the Angels.
