Logan Gilbert SP | SEA
Mariners' Logan Gilbert: Earns fifth win
Gilbert (5-6) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings against the Royals. He struck out five.
Gilbert was handed plenty of run support from the Mariners' offense and took advantage by attacking the zone to secure the win. After being tagged for six runs in two innings against the Phillies on Aug. 18, the right-hander has largely settled back in, posting a 2.54 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with a 12.4 K/9 across 28.1 innings over his last five starts.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Another big performance
Pena went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored Tuesday against the Rangers.
Pena set the table for Houston's offense, leading off both the first and third innings with singles before coming around to score. He extended his hitting streak to five games and has at least one hit in 21 of his last 26 games, during which he's recorded 12 RBI and 13 runs scored while hitting .281. Pena has performed particularly well to start the Astros' series against Texas, tallying five hits with an RBI and five runs scored in the last two games.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Knocks in two
Altuve went 1-for-2 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Rangers.
Altuve started his second consecutive game since returning from a foot injury. He tallied a sacrifice fly in the first inning before delivering an RBI single three frames later. While this was a positive performance, Altuve has gone only 8-for-49 (.163) with seven RBI and five runs scored across 14 games in September.

Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Two RBI Tuesday
Sosa went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Orioles.
Sosa delivered a two-RBI single in the eighth inning, playing his part in a five-run rally for the White Sox. He's tallied nine RBI and eight runs scored across 13 games in September, though he's gone only 11-for-53 (.207) in that span.

Andrew Benintendi LF | CHW
White Sox's Andrew Benintendi: Pops 20th homer
Benintendi went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Tuesday against the Orioles.
Benintendi went yard in the eighth inning, his 20th home run of the season -- tying his career high. Five of those long balls have come in his last 13 games, during which he's also delivered 13 RBI and seven runs scored.

Tristan Gray 2B | TB
Rays' Tristan Gray: Tallies three hits
Gray went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
Gray has gotten sporadic playing time around the infield, with Tuesday marking his second straight start -- one at shortstop and one at third base. He delivered an RBI single in the eighth inning, and he's now gone 8-for-25 with five RBI and five runs scored across his last 10 games.

Chandler Simpson CF | TB
Rays' Chandler Simpson: Swipes two more bags
Simpson went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
Simpson made an impact on the game with his speed, reaching base on an infield single in the third inning before stealing second base and scoring a run. He followed that up in the ninth frame with a second stolen base, bringing his total on the season to 42 across 101 games -- good for second-most in the league. Simpson is closing the season in strong form, hitting .294 with eight runs scored and four stolen bases in 14 games since Sept. 1.

Bryan Abreu RP | HOU
Astros' Bryan Abreu: Stops bleeding late, earns save
Abreu earned the save Tuesday against the Rangers, allowing one unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings.
The right-hander was summoned in the eighth inning after Enyel De Los Santos nearly squandered a 6-1 lead. Abreu, who had allowed eight runs over his previous six appearances, looked to be in danger of another rough outing as he gave up an RBI single to Adolis Garcia following a walk to the first batter he faced. However, Abreu managed to settle down, escape further damage and finish off the ninth to secure his seventh save of the season. The performance not only helped seal a much-needed win for Houston but also provided a confidence boost for Abreu. He owns a 2.37 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 103:31 K:BB across 68.1 innings on the year.

Merrill Kelly SP | TEX
Rangers' Merrill Kelly: Lasts three innings vs. Astros
Kelly (12-8) took the loss Tuesday against the Astros, allowing six runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out one over three-plus innings.
Kelly never fully settled in, and his outing unraveled in the fourth when he allowed five consecutive hits on just 12 pitches without recording an out before being lifted. The six runs were his highest total allowed in a start since April 3, when he was tagged for nine by the Yankees. It also marked Kelly's shortest outing since 2022, a discouraging result for a Texas team fighting for a playoff spot. The 36-year-old will look to rebound in his next scheduled start against the Twins.

A.J. Blubaugh RP | HOU
Astros' AJ Blubaugh: Racks up sevens Ks in short start
Blubaugh struck out seven and scattered two hits and one walk over three scoreless innings in his start during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Rangers. He didn't factor into the decision in the victory.
Called upon to make his second start of the season in what was essentially a bullpen game for the Astros, Blubaugh was electric out of the gate, striking out the first four batters he faced on his way to racking up an eye-popping 21 called or swinging strikes on only 50 pitches before giving way to Colton Gordon. Blubaugh has been outstanding in September, working 11 consecutive scoreless innings with 16 strikeouts and four walks. The rookie carries a 2.16 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB across 25 innings this season. He'll likely shift back to the bullpen temporarily but could be called upon when the Astros next require a fifth starter during the final series of the regular season versus the Angels.
