Kody Clemens 1B | MIN
Twins' Kody Clemens: Taking seat Monday
Clemens is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.
Edouard Julien will step in at first base in place of Clemens, who had started in each of the Twins' last four games, facing off against two right-handers and two lefties. Though Clemens finished August with a lowly .536 OPS, Julien didn't fare much better on the month (.545 OPS), and Clemens' longer track record of success in the majors this season could be enough to make him the preferred option at first base during the final month of the campaign.

Angels' Taylor Ward: Not in Monday's lineup
Ward (forehead) is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Houston, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Matthew Lugo will start in left field and bat seventh for the Angels on Monday.

The Mariners designated Lao for assignment Monday.

Sawyer Gipson-Long SP | DET
Tigers' Sawyer Gipson-Long: Set for call-up Tuesday
The Tigers are expected to recall Gipson-Long from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Tuesday's game against the Mets, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
With the active roster expanding from 26 to 28 men Monday, Detroit recalled right-hander Chase Lee and outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy from Triple-A to fill the two openings, but the Tigers will make another move Tuesday to facilitate Gipson-Long's call-up. The Tigers don't have a starter listed for Tuesday, so Gipson-Long appears likely to begin that game on the mound or serve as a bulk reliever. The right-hander has previously made six appearances (two starts) for the Tigers this season, logging a 4.32 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB in 25 innings.

Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Absence continues Monday

Gustavo Campero C | LAA
Angels' Gustavo Campero: Officially done for season
The Angels transferred Campero (ankle) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.
Campero suffered a significant high left ankle sprain in mid-August and is now officially done for the remainder of the season.
