Pena (illness) isn't in the starting lineup Saturday against Baltimore, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Pena didn't start Friday due to an illness, and he's going to begin on the bench for at least an additional day. It's not clear if the star shortstop is available off the bench. Mauricio Dubon is getting another start at shortstop in Pena's stead.

De Vries went 3-for-4 with a triple, two home runs, five RBI, an additional run scored and a walk Friday with High-A Lansing.

De Vries turned in his first standout performance since joining the Athletics organization, piling up three extra-base hits and driving in five of Lansing's 11 runs. Acquired as the centerpiece of the blockbuster deadline trade that sent Mason Miller to San Diego, the 18-year-old prospect has batted .229/.316/.458 with a .774 OPS, a double, two triples, two homers, 11 RBI and a stolen base across 13 games. Though still early in his pro journey, De Vries has the skill set and upside to become a key piece of the Athletics' future.

Story went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 win over the Marlins.

A listless Red Sox offense managed to eke out a win on three hits, as Story's bases-loaded, walk-off single secured the win. Earlier in the game, he stole his 21st base in 21 attempts, which set a new franchise record for consecutive stolen-base attempts without being thrown out. Story is on a roll right now, slashing .345/.415/.586 with three home runs, five doubles, 15 RBI, four steals and 16 runs over the last 15 contests.

Lindor went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's 11-9 loss to the Mariners.

The shortstop made an early impact, taking Luis Castillo deep in the first and fourth innings, but New York's pitching couldn't hold the lead Lindor helped build. While the fading Mets are still clinging to a playoff spot, Lindor may be heating up at the right time to save their season. Over 13 games in August, he's slashing .314/.417/.608 with three doubles, four homers, two steals, 10 RBI and 14 runs.

Adames went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Rays.

Adames entered Friday 0-for-18 over his previous five games. He snapped the slump with a third-inning solo shot, and he was also able to swipe a bag for the first time since June 24 versus the Marlins. The shortstop was hot coming out of the All-Star break, but he's reverted to his early-season form over the last week. He's now at a .223/.309/.398 slash line with 19 homers, five steals, 62 RBI and 71 runs scored over 121 contests.

Neto went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Athletics.

Neto is up to 20 homers on the year after his fifth-inning blast Friday. He's surged to that mark with five long balls over his last 11 games, a span in which he's batting .250 (11-for-44) with 11 RBI. The shortstop continues to work well out of the leadoff spot, and he's at a .269/.326/.482 slash line with 52 RBI, 73 runs scored, 21 stolen bases, 25 doubles and one triple across 103 games. He's three homers shy of matching his mark from last season.

Ritter went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Ritter was activated from the injured list Friday after around a four-week absence. He immediately started at shortstop while hitting ninth and delivered a leadoff double in his first at-bat. Ritter is likely to see the majority of his playing time at second base moving forward, but he should get regular playing time with Thairo Estrada (hamstring) out for the season.

Baez went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 7-0 win over the Twins.

Baez has now tallied at least one hit in nine of his first 13 games in August. The All-Star utility player had a miserable .426 OPS through 61 at-bats in July, but he's starting to heat up again so far this month. Across his last 43 at-bats, Baez is hitting .326 with five extra-base hits, eight RBI, five runs scored and one stolen base as he looks to work his way up Detroit's batting order.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Friday's 6-2 win over the Nationals.

Turner singled twice off MacKenzie Gore and swiped second both times. He's now hit safely in eight of his past 10 games, collecting five extra-base hits, seven RBI, five runs scored and three stolen bases in that span. For the year, the shortstop leads the National League with 142 hits while slashing .286/.341/.427 with 12 homers, 52 RBI, 78 runs scored and 28 steals across 542 plate appearances.

Manager Joe Espada said Pena, who is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Baltimore, is feeling under the weather and is getting some tests done, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

It's more than just a night off for Pena, who looks to be battling some sort of sickness. He should be considered day-to-day until more information is presented. Mauricio Dubon is playing shortstop Friday.
