D'Arnaud has been battling the flu in recent days, David O'Brien of the AJC reports.

The team has yet to announce how long D'Arnaud will be shelved with the illness, but O'Brien reports that the bug has hit a couple of players in the Braves' clubhouse. His temporary absence will likely lead to more at-bats for the likes of Dansby Swanson and Jace Peterson in exhibition games.

Adames, the Rays' No. 1 prospect, is impressing this spring in his first exposure to the majors, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports. "I'm just excited to be here," Adames said. "Every day practicing with these guys. Learning from them. Just very thankful for this opportunity. Just try to do what I can to get better."

The 21-year-old shortstop arrived in Tampa as part of the David Price trade in August 2014 and has progressed well within the Rays system since that point. He slashed a solid .274/.372/.430 with 31 doubles, six triples, 11 homers, 57 RBI and 13 stolen bases over 132 games at Double-A Montgomery last season, which earned him Southern League All-Star honors. Adames is yet to break through at the plate -- with only one hit in his first seven at-bats through Wednesday -- but has impressed with his attitude and mental approach during what is his first extended stretch among big leaguers. "He's got all the actions," said Tom Foley, the Rays' bench and infield coach. "This guy is energy every day. The same kid. Smile on his face. Upbeat. You see that every day. That's not a facade."

Rojas hit a three-run home run and a sacrifice fly in two trips to the plate during Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.

He's got just three home runs in 485 at-bats in the majors, but Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports that Rojas spent the offseason trying to add more loft to his swing after he grounded into 10 double plays in 2016, and at least for one meaningless preseason game those efforts paid off. The 28-year-old will begin the season on the Marlins' bench, and even in deep NL-only leagues, would only be worth a fantasy roster spot if injuries hit the team's infield.

X-rays on Seager's injured shin returned negative and manager Dave Roberts suggested Wednesday evening that he is expected to rejoin the lineup Friday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.

This is a positive sign for the Dodgers and fantasy owners alike, as Seager appears to have avoided any serious damage. Assuming he stays healthy, the 22-year-old shortstop figures to place among the elite at his position in the league again in 2017.

Seager fouled a pitch off his right shin but said he will return to the lineup Friday, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.

He fouled the pitch off his shin, just above his protective guard. It sounds like a minor ailment, and he should be back in action this weekend.

Ahmed (hip) is 1-for-4 over two Cactus League games.

Ahmed underwent hip surgery in August but has successfully rehabbed himself back to full health. Ahmed was used as a pinch hitter in one of the games he played in, but played multiple innings at shortstop in the other. If he stays healthy, Ahmed could leverage a solid spring showing into regular appearances at shortstop in the upcoming season.

Swanson went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Tigers.

He's off to a fast start in his first spring training as a major leaguer, collecting hits in four of his first five at-bats. After slashing .302/.361/.442 in 38 games last season with the Braves, big things are expected from the 23-year-old Swanson as one of the centerpieces of a rebuilding roster.

Gordon (illness) will start at second base and bat leadoff in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

Gordon rejoined the Marlins on Tuesday after fully recovering from a bout with an eye infection that had kept him away from the team for a couple of days. The speedster was able to stay sharp by taking some swings in his apartment while he was isolated from the team, and that was apparently enough to convince manager Don Mattingly to insert Gordon in the lineup Tuesday for his spring debut. An 80-game PED suspension ended up depressing Gordon's final numbers last season, but he still finished among the league leaders with 30 steals in just 345 plate appearances. Given the scarcity of stolen bases league wide, Gordon's elite potential in that category continues to make him a high-end fantasy commodity at the keystone, despite his lack of output in homers and RBI.

Turner went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.

He once again hit leadoff, and Nats manager Dusty Baker seems committed to keeping him in that spot despite the offseason acquisition of Adam Eaton, who hit sixth in this one. Turner could have a hard time repeating his 2016 numbers at the plate given last year's .391 BABIP, but he should still provide plenty of value hitting at the top of a potent Washington offense.

Diaz went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, sacrifice fly and one run in Sunday's 7-4 Grapefruit League win over the Marlins.

Diaz brought home Eric Fryer with his fourth-inning sac fly after having been driven in himself by Yadier Molina's second-inning two-bagger. Now in full possession of the starting shortstop job, the second-year phenom will look to build on his stellar .300/.369/.510 line from 2016 in the coming season.
