Ahmed went 2-for-5 at the plate in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Padres.

Ahmed has recorded at least one hit in all but one of his last seven starts, lifting his season average from .212 to .226 over that stretch. The shortstop's hard-hit rate (39 percent) is up seven points from his 2017 mark and his line-drive rate sits at a career-best 25.6 percent, offering hope that he'll eventually see some improvement with his .256 BABIP, which has contributed to the low average.

Gordon went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a triple and a run in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

Gordon hit safely for the fourth consecutive game while lacing his third three-bagger of the season in the process. The speedy infielder hit a mediocre .248 in June, but factoring in Thursday's production, he's 5-for-16 with a steal so far in July.

As expected, DeJong (hand) joined the Cardinals in San Francisco on Thursday and remains a candidate for activation Friday. He'll wear a protective guard over his batting glove upon resuming play, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

Manager Mike Matheny stated that the team will also want to see how DeJong responds to a rest day before playing on back-to-back days, which hints at him possibly only suiting up in two of the subsequent three games if he's indeed activated Friday. The shortstop has been on the disabled list since May 17 and only logged a total of 13 at-bats with Triple-A Memphis during his rehab stint, so it wouldn't be surprising if timing is somewhat of an issue initially. Moreover, the protective guard he'll don could have an effect on his swing, although that remains to be seen.

Anderson is day-to-day with a sore forearm, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Anderson was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning of Thursday's loss to the Astros and was reportedly dealing with some soreness after the game. With that, the White Sox will reevaluate their starting shortstop Friday before making a decision on whether to keep Anderson in the lineup or give him the day off. If Anderson is given the day off, Yolmer Sanchez could slide over to shortstop.

Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs and eight RBI in Thursday's thrilling comeback victory over the Marlins.

The Nationals' leadoff hitter was the hero Thursday as he led the charge in helping his team overcome a nine-run deficit. Turner's sixth-inning grand slam gave the Nationals their first lead of the game and he added a two-run single later in the game for good measure. According to Mark Zuckerman of MASN, Turner is just the sixth leadoff hitter in MLB history to record eight RBI in a game.

Manager A.J. Hinch said Thursday that Correa (back) is not expected to return from the 10-day DL this weekend against the White Sox, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet reports.

As expected, Correa will not be rushed back into action, as the 23-year-old has yet to resume baseball activities after landing on the shelf last Friday. With just seven games left before the All-Star break following the Astros' four-game set against Chicago weekend, it may be determined that the best course of action is to keep Correa out until the second half of the season.

Wendle went 2-for-2 with a walk in a loss to the Marlins on Wednesday.

Wendle was one of the few Rays to enjoy a productive day at the plate, extending what has been a strong start to July. Factoring in Wednesday's production, Wendle boasts a pair of multi-hit efforts over his three starts in the new month, going 5-for-11 (.455) during that span.

Camargo went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.

It's his second homer in three days and ninth of the season, extending the 24-year-old's modest hitting streak to nine games. Camargo has a .295/.353/.495 slash line in 28 games since the beginning of June with five home runs, 15 runs and 22 RBI despite generally hitting towards the bottom of the Braves' order, and while the team's roster is too deep to allow him to move up into a better spot without a few injuries, he still seems poised to put together a strong second half.

Updating an earlier report, DeJong (hand) will join the Cardinals in San Francisco on Thursday but will not be activated until Friday at the earliest, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

DeJong was thought to have a chance of being activated before the series opener Thursday, but manager Mike Matheny confirmed otherwise Wednesday. However, it appears highly likely he'll make his return at some point during the series versus the Giants and slot back into his everyday role at shortstop.

Ahmed is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Arizona skipper Torey Lovullo tabbed Daniel Descalso and Ketel Marte for starts in the middle infield in the series finale, leaving no room in the lineup for Ahmed. The shortstop had started seven of the past eight games for the Diamondbacks, going 8-for-28 (.286 average) with three extra-base hits and a pair of walks.
