Baez isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Baez is in the midst of a six-game hitting streak and has gone 7-for-25 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBI during that time. Eric Sogard will start at shortstop and bat seventh.

Marcano was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.

Marcano spent just over a week on the major-league roster and went 4-for-17 with five runs and two RBI during his most recent stint in the big leagues. He'll now return to the minors after Fernando Tatis and Eric Hosmer were reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday.

Wendle is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

With a tough southpaw (John Means) on the hill for the opposition, Rays manager Kevin Cash has elected to give three key left-handed hitters in Wendle, Austin Meadows and Ji-Man Choi the day off. Wendle's move to the bench opens up third base for Mike Brosseau, who will bat ninth in the order.

Wendle went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

Wendle now has a combined seven hits over two of his last three games, leading to a quick 25-point boost in his batting average to .292. Wendle also garnered his first three-bagger of the season Tuesday and has now laced 17 of his 38 hits this season for extra bases, having also compiled 13 doubles and three home runs.

Lindor went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Braves.

Lindor has been struggling at the plate but is showing signs of turning things around following a dreadful start to the campaign. The star shortstop has hit safely in eight of his last 11 games, posting three multi-hit efforts and a .282/.383/.487 slash line across that span.

Edman went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.

The switch hitter came into Tuesday just 4-for-32 (.125) over his last seven games, but Edman busted out with a big performance at the top of the order. On the season, he's slashing .274/.328/.366 with two homers, seven steals, eight RBI and 20 runs in 42 contests.

Crawford went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 4-2 win at Cincinnati.

The 34-year-old delivered a solo homer in the seventh inning to provide the Giants an insurance run, and he scored earlier in the contest on Alex Dickerson's three-run shot. Crawford is 13-for-40 (.325 average) with six home runs, 13 RBI, 12 runs and an 8:9 BB:K through 13 games in May.

Fletcher (groin) is not in the lineup Tuesday against Cleveland, Daniel Guerrero of MLB.com reports.

Fletcher will be sidelined for the third straight game Tuesday after initially playing through the groin issue last week. The team previously indicated a trip to the injured list wasn't expected, though it's unclear whether that assessment has changed. Phil Gosselin will start at the keystone Tuesday in his absence.

Mondesi (oblique) has been transferred to Triple-A Omaha to continue his rehab assignment Tuesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

The move marks one step closer toward Mondesi's looming return to big-league action. The switch hitter likely would have been activated by now if not for his lefty swing being a bit behind in the rehab, but the move to Triple-A suggests Mondesi is swinging comfortably from both sides of the plate.

Lindor went 0-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base in Mondays' 3-1 win over Atlanta.

Lindor swiped his third bag of the year in the top of the seventh inning after reaching base on a free pass. Although he was able to showcase his speed in the victory, he continues to scuffle at the dish, as he's now 9-for-50 with two homers, five RBI and two stolen bases in May (14 games).
