Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill (finger) and Chris Owings (shoulder) remain out of the starting lineup for Sunday's season finale against the Cardinals.

Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon departed Saturday's game against Colorado in the second inning with right hip irritation, MLB.com reports. He was removed as a precaution, according to the report.

Gordon is hitting .289 with two homers and 34 RBI over 609 at-bats. His status remains uncertain for the final game of the regular season on Sunday.

Diamondbacks infielders Aaron Hill and Chris Owings are not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup with the Cardinals.

Hill hasn't played since Monday due to a finger injury. Owings was scratched from Friday's lineup with a shoulder issue.

Diamondbacks shortstop Chris Owings was scratched from the starting lineup Friday night against St. Louis because of a sore shoulder, MLB.com reports. The move was made as a precaution, though his status for the final two days of the season remains uncertain. Owings owns a .261/.300/.406 slash line with six homers and 26 RBI over 310 at-bats.

Red-hot Dodgers second baseman Dee Gordon will cool his heels Wednesday afternoon in Colorado. He is out of the lineup in favor of Darwin Barney, who will also assume his leadoff spot.

Gordon owns a 10-game hitting streak with seven multi-hit games. He is 18 of 41 during that stretch with 14 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Diamondbacks recalled shortstop Nick Ahmed and pitcher Andrew Chafin from Triple-A Reno prior to Monday's game against San Francisco. 

Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford went 2 for 3 with a walk, a double, a home run and three RBI in his team's 9-0 win over the Dodgers Friday.

The Giants closed the gap with the division-leading Dodgers to one game thanks in part to Crawford, who doubled home the final run in a four-run first inning before slugging a two-run home run in the fifth. He has hit .238/.320/.381 with nine home runs and 62 RBI in 446 at-bats.

The Padres added infielder Ryan Jackson to the 40-man roster Tuesday then immediately placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a wrist injury, MLB.com reports. Jackson is recovering from June wrist surgery.

The Diamondbacks activated infielder Chris Owings (shoulder) and outfielder A.J. Pollock (hand) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, the team announced.

Owings has been out since late June due to his injury, while Pollock's has kept him out since late May.

The Diamondbacks are set to bring back some of their injured players once rosters expand, according to FoxSports.

Outfielder A.J. Pollock, shortstop Chris Owings and starter Daniel Hudson should be back with the team September 1. Pollock has been out since late May with a hand issue. Owings has been dealing with a should injury. Hudson is coming back following Tommy John surgery.
