Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Homers, knocks in three Tuesday
Swanson went 3-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Padres.
Swanson registered an RBI single in the fourth and then swatted a two-run homer -- his sixth of the year -- in the next inning. Swanson is hitting .274/.335/.457 with 19 extra-base hits, 25 RBI and 22 runs scored, putting him around the middle of the pack with respect to MLB shortstops.

Daniel Castro SS | COL
Rockies' Daniel Castro: Optioned to minors
Castro was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Castro was hitting just .174/.191/.261 across 18 games with the Rockies and had no clear path to playing time with DJ LeMahieu back from the DL. He'll continue to serve as organizational infield depth with the Isotopes, where he hit an impressive .407/.429/.516 across 23 games earlier in the season. Mike Tauchman was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding roster move.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Phillies' J.P. Crawford: Continuing rehab at Triple-A
Crawford will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
Crawford will ramp up his rehab stint after going 4-for-20 with a homer and a walk through five games with High-A Clearwater. It's unclear how many games Crawford will need to play with the IronPigs before being activated from the DL, but things are trending in the right direction for the shortstop, who has been sidelined since the end of April with a forearm strain.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Stays red hot Monday
Crawford went 2-for-2 with a walk, a double and his seventh home run of the season in Monday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.
Crawford was part of a three-pitch sequence in the fourth inning that saw both he and Andrew McCutchen go deep off Arizona starter Zack Godley. After a disappointing start to the year (.189/.237/.300 in his first 27 games), the veteran shortstop has slashed an incredible .422/.461/.647 with five homers and 22 RBI since the calendar turned to May.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Smacks two hits, adds steal Sunday
Ahmed went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and a stolen base in the Diamondbacks' 6-1 win over the Marlins on Sunday.
Ahmed has delivered three two-hit performances over his last eight games, but he has mostly been invisible in the other five contests, going 1-for-17. The shortstop's conscious effort to adjust his swing and sell out for power has already aided him to a career-high eight home runs, but the change has been detrimental to his batting average. He's hitting just .210 for the season, with a spike in his flyball rate contributing to a .231 BABIP that's 25 points below his career mark.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Collects two hits
Swanson went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, one walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Nationals.
Swanson came through with a timely home run in the seventh to tie the game at two, and he would later double in the ninth before Charlie Culberson drove him in on a long ball. The 24-year-old shortstop is hitting .263 with five home runs and 22 RBI through 44 games this season.
-
Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Smacks seventh homer
Turner went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Braves.
Turner gave the Nationals a 2-1 lead in the third inning following a two-run home run, but they'd ultimately lose 4-2. He's been consistent at the plate lately, recording a base knock in 14 of his last 15 games. Through 59 games, Turner has swiped 16 bags, and he's hitting .260 with seven home runs and 24 RBI.
-
Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Steals home Sunday
Baez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Mets.
Baez swiped his eighth base of the season, as he caught the Mets off-guard with a steal of home to give the Cubs a 1-0 lead. Despite walking just seven times in 211 at-bats, he's hitting .270 with 14 home runs and 45 RBI through 54 games this season.

Chris Owings SS | LAD
Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Earns third straight start
Owings will start in right field and bat sixth Sunday against the Marlins.
With Socrates Brito recording just two hits in 17 at-bats since his promotion from Triple-A Reno in late May, Owings has seemingly settled in as the primary replacement for the injured Steven Souza (pectoral) in right field. Owings will pick up his third straight start Sunday, but has yet to fully bust of his season-long slump, which has been exacerbated by a career-low .239 BABIP. Owings is hitting just .187 with a .536 OPS across 167 plate appearances.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Logs third straight start
Arcia will start at shortstop and bat ninth Sunday against the White Sox.
Though he's hitting just .197 on the season and returned from a four-game stint at Triple-A Colorado Springs just a few days earlier, Arcia looks like he'll handle an everyday role so long as he sticks around with the big club. The 23-year-old will pick up his third straight start Sunday, leaving the likes of Eric Sogard and Hernan Perez to settle for utility duties.
