Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Expects to play Tuesday
Ahmed (finger) was confident following Monday's game that he will be available to play Tuesday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Ahmed was removed from Monday's game when a hard-hit groundball took a bad hop and split the nail on his right middle finger. "If it stopped bleeding, I would have stayed in the game and been fine," said Ahmed. "It was bleeding all over my pants. It would have been bleeding on the ball if it was hit to me. Unfortunately, I had to come out right there." Ahmed, who mentioned at least three times to reporters that he would be fine, has played in 34 consecutive games.

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Exits with finger injury
Ahmed left Monday's game against the Marlins with a finger injury, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.
Ahmed suffered the injury while trying to field a grounder with his bare hand, and after being examined by the team trainer, he was forced to depart. He'll be considered day-to-day until another update is released.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Goes deep again
Edman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday.
Edman joined in on the fun of the Cardinals' four-homer barrage with a 367-foot shot to right in the ninth with Yadier Molina aboard to bring St. Louis within a run. The rookie has left the yard in back-to-back games for the first time in his career and has reached safely in nine of the last 10 contests overall.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Out of Sunday's lineup
Arcia is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at St. Louis.
Arcia made his return from the paternity list Thursday and started the last three games, but he'll head to the bench for the series finale after going 1-for-10 with a walk. Hernan Perez will start at shortstop and bat eighth Sunday in his place.

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Leaves yard in loss
Edman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
Edman launched a 378-foot shot to right in the second off Jordan Lyles to open the scoring on the night for both clubs. Ultimately, that proved to be one of the few offensive highlights for the previously hot-hitting Cardinals, who were flummoxed by Lyles and four relievers. Edman has left the yard on three occasions over the last seven games, and he's now hit safely in eight of his last nine contests, including in four straight.

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Scores lone run in win
Ahmed went 1-for-3 with a triple and the lone run in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Reds.
Ahmed's third-inning triple, his fifth of the year, was the only hit the Diamondbacks could muster against Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani and two relievers. Ahmed ultimately scored the only run for either team on a Jarrod Dyson sacrifice fly. The shortstop is hitting .260/.322/.443 with 18 homers, 80 RBI and 74 runs scored this season, all career highs for the 29-year-old.

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Makes impact from bottom of order
Edman went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Brewers on Friday.
Edman drew another start at third base Friday and continued to make the multi-faceted contributions that have become a signature of his rookie campaign. The 24-year-old's two-bagger served as his seventh extra-base hit of September, and he continues to impress on the basepaths with a 92.3 percent success rate on steals (12-for-13).

Pablo Reyes RF | SD
Pirates' Pablo Reyes: Gets nod against Cubs
Reyes will start in right field and bat sixth against the Cubs on Saturday.
He enjoyed the first three-hit game of his career Friday, missing the cycle by a home run. Reyes, who will be making just his fourth start in September, is slashing .231/.324/.431 with two homers in 74 plate appearances since being recalled in early August.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Goes yard twice in win
Story went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI in Friday's 10-8 win over the Padres.
The slugging shortstop has 32 homers, 20 steals, 79 RBI and a career-high 104 runs on the year to go with his robust .297/.356/.554 slash line. Story has 14 games left on the schedule -- eight of them at home in Coors Field -- to match or exceed the career-high 37 home runs he hit last year.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Rare two-steal game
DeJong went 0-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run in a win over the Rockies on Thursday.
While he didn't partake in the Cardinals' offensive breakout -- in fact, DeJong was the only St. Louis starting position player that didn't hit safely in the contest -- the shortstop made a nice contribution for fantasy managers on the basepaths. Having come into 2019 with just one stolen base apiece in each of his first two big-league seasons, DeJong now has nine swipes on 14 attempts during the current campaign. Coupled with similar career-best marks in doubles (30) , home runs (26) and RBI (72), it's mostly been a banner season for the 26-year-old that even his career-high 127 strikeouts can't sully, considering he's still managed to drop his actual strikeout rate a full four percentage points from last season's 25.2.
