Jim Jarvis SS | ATL
Braves' Jim Jarvis: Idle for first game of twin bill
Jarvis is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Mets.
Mauricio Dubon will get the nod at shortstop in place of the left-handed-hitting Jarvis, who will head to the bench while lefty Sean Manaea takes the hill for the Mets in the first game of the day. Jarvis will likely be back in the starting nine to face off against Mets righty Christian Scott in the nightcap.

Jacob Gonzalez SS | PIT
Pirates' Jacob Gonzalez: Out of lineup versus left-hander
Gonzalez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Diamondbacks.
With left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez on the bump for the Diamondbacks, the lefty-swinging Gonzalez will begin the game on the bench. Jared Triolo will fill in at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's rubber match.

Cooper Pratt SS | MIL
Brewers' Cooper Pratt: Nabs steal in win
Pratt went 1-for-4 with a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Giants.
Pratt has gone 10-for-24 (.417) with three steals over his last seven games. The shortstop has had little trouble adjusting to the majors, batting .283 with a .759 OPS across his first 34 big-league games. He's added nine steals, two home runs, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored, four doubles and a triple through 124 plate appearances.

Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Shifting to bench Tuesday
Ortiz is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.
Dating back to July 4, Ortiz started in all but two of the Brewers' ensuing 20 games and enjoyed his best offensive stretch of the season, slashing .339/.388/.629 with three home runs, three steals, nine runs and nine RBI. The recent return of David Hamilton from the injured list presents a potential roadblock to Ortiz maintaining an everyday role, but Ortiz won't be phased out entirely while he's swinging a hot bat. Expect Hamilton and Ortiz to be deployed in something of a timeshare at third base, with Ortiz also picking up occasional starts at shortstop when rookie Cooper Pratt is rested.

Osleivis Basabe 2B | SF
Giants' Osleivis Basabe: Selected from Triple-A
The Giants selected Basabe's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.
Basabe made his most recent appearances in the major leagues during 2023 for the Rays, when he slashed .218/.277/.310 across 94 plate appearances in 31 games. For Triple-A Sacramento in 2026, the 25-year-old has slashed .268/.344/.388 through 311 plate appearances. His call-up Tuesday comes as a corresponding move to the Giants placing Casey Schmitt (knee) on the 10-day injured list. Basabe will be available to serve as a utility man.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Taking seat Tuesday
Swanson isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.
Swanson has tallied at least one base hit in six of his last seven games, but the Cubs will keep him on the bench to begin Tuesday's contest. Nico Hoerner will slide over to shortstop as a result, opening up second base for Pedro Ramirez.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Pilfers two bags in Monday's loss
Abrams went 0-for-2 with two walks and two stolen bases in Monday's loss to the Blue Jays.
The star shortstop has swiped four bags in the last five games, leaving Abrams one steal away from becoming the second player this season to reach the 20-20 plateau after the Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong (23 HR, 26 SB). Trade rumors have been swirling around Abrams, but it hasn't been a distraction -- over 19 games in July, he's delivered a .387/.424/.813 slash line with nine homers, six stolen bases, 14 runs and 22 RBI.

Otto Lopez SS | MIA
Marlins' Otto Lopez: Swipes two bags against Phils
Lopez went 3-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored, an RBI and two stolen bases in Monday's win over the Phillies.
The All-Star shortstop was a terror on the basepaths as he continues a breakout campaign. While he's gone 14 games without a home run, he's still been making an impact, batting .290 (9-for-31) in eight games since the All-Star break with three runs, three RBI and five of his career-high 22 steals.
-
Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Explodes for two homers, six RBI
Lindor went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a triple, a walk and six total RBI in a 14-3 win against Atlanta on Monday.
Lindor was instrumental in helping New York hang around in the early portion of the game, knocking in his team's first three runs on an RBI triple and a two-run homer. The game was tied 3-3 through five frames, and Lindor added a two-run blast in the eighth inning to cap an 11-run explosion against Atlanta reliever Connor Thomas. Lindor has a trio of three-hit games over 10 contests since the All-Star break, so he may be coming around after a slow start to the campaign. He's still at only eight home runs through 50 contests, so he'd have to finish the season on an absolutely torrid heater to reach 30 long balls for a fourth straight year.

Jefferson Rojas SS | NYM
Cubs' Jefferson Rojas: Playing well at Double-A
Through 85 games with Double-A Knoxville, Rojas is slashing .269/.335/.464 with 14 stolen bases, 15 home runs and 57 RBI.
Rojas made the jump from High-A to Double-A in 2025 as a 20-year-old, and he had some growing pains at the higher level, finishing with a .164 batting average and .484 OPS in 39 games. It's been a different story for the talented youngster this season, as he's showing off a dynamic mix of power and speed, and he's already set new professional bests in home runs and RBI. Rojas is probably still a year or two away from the majors, but the top prospect is flashing his potential and could earn a promotion to Triple-A at some point.
