O'Malley (appendectomy) was transferred to the 60-day DL on Tuesday, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

This was merely a procedural move to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. O'Malley has already missed a month after undergoing an appendectomy late in spring training, and GM Jerry Dipoto said just last week that O'Malley isn't close to returning.

Correa went 1-for-3 with a two-run double in the seventh inning of Monday's 6-2 win over Texas.

Correa's double, his sixth extra-base hit in the last eight games, was just the fourth time in 30 at-bats he's delivered a base knock with runners in scoring position. It was also his first hit with a man on third base with less than two outs. He'd been 0-for-9 in such situations entering Monday's game, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports. Correa said he's been chasing pitches outside the zone, trying to make a play instead of taking a walk. The numbers at Baseball Info Solutions back that up. Entering Monday, the shortstop had swung at 32 percent of the pitches he saw outside the zone, up from 29 percent in 2016. "I feel like it's more about being patient at the plate," he said. "Try to take the pitches I don't want to hit and be able to put in play the pitches I want to hit and be able to put it in play hard."

Wendle was reinstated from the disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Wendle hit the DL on April 1 with a shoulder injury, but he's now fully recovered and should return to action with Nashville within the next few days. The infielder has already seen time in six games for Nashville on the year, amassing eight hits in 22 at-bats to go with three RBI. Last season, Wendle hit .279 across 491 Triple-A at-bats.

Correa went 2-for-5 with two RBI in a 9-4 win over Oakland on Friday.

Correa has now hit safely in five straight games with at least one extra-base hit in four of them. This recent run comes after a stretch in which he was hitless in 19 at-bats.

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Friday's 7-3 win over the Tigers.

His two-run shot in the ninth inning off rookie reliever Joe Jimenez was Anderson's second homer of the season. The young shortstop also struck out twice, however, leaving him with a 2:20 BB:K through 20 games, and his .224/.250/.329 slash line may not improve much until he learns to control the strike zone better.

The Red Sox activated d'Arnaud on Friday, a day after claiming him on waivers, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.

The infielder will provide depth, especially at a third base position that's looking for stability with Pablo Sandoval (knee) on the disabled list. AL-only fantasy players could give d'Arnaud a try at a middle infielder spot.

D'Arnaud was claimed off waivers by the Red Sox on Thursday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.

D'Arnaud will take the roster spot of Carson Smith, who was moved to the 60-day DL to make room for the 30-year-old. With Pablo Sandoval (knee) and Brock Holt (vertigo) on the DL and Dustin Pedroia still hobbled, it isn't too surprising to see Boston scoop up the super-utility man. D'Arnaud was batting .375 in eight at-bats (11 games) with the Braves before being DFA'd Tuesday. He should offer infield depth for the Red Sox when he is activated.

Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said Tuesday that O'Malley (appendectomy) isn't close to returning to active duty, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

In addition to the appendectomy, O'Malley is also still recovering from a right shoulder issue, according to Dipoto. The utility man's absence has mostly gone unnoticed, as O'Malley's placement on the disabled list to begin the season allowed Taylor Motter to make the 25-man roster. Motter has been one of the club's more effective power bats, with 11 of his 14 hits going for extra bases.

Adrianza (oblique) has been transferred to Triple-A Rochester to continue his rehab assignment, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The 27-year-old made it clear that he is ready for more advanced competition, going 6-for-15 with two doubles and a stolen base in his three-game stint with High-A Fort Myers. A .220/.292/.313 career hitter at the major-league level, he will be merely a bench option for Minnesota upon his eventual return.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with three singles, an RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored in Monday's 12-1 victory over the Royals.

The three-hit performance raised Anderson's average to just .208 on the season, and he has only three extra-base hits in his 74 plate appearances on the young season. The 23-year-old may continue to struggle with the stick as he matures. His only real asset for fantasy owners are his wheels, and his steal Monday was only his second of the year. Anderson has plenty of upside, but he's only useful for his speed right now in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
