Wendle is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

As per usual, the lefty-hitting Wendle will take a seat on the bench with a left-handed pitcher (Jaime Garcia) toeing the rubber for the opposition. Christian Arroyo will start at the keystone and hit sixth in his stead.

Gordon, who's been manning second base during Robinson Cano's 80-game suspension, is slated to continue logging regular playing time there upon Cano's return in mid-August, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Kramer is essentially relaying the details of a conversation that general manager Jerry Dipoto had with ESPN.com in which he explained the reasoning behind the decision. Not only has Gordon handled himself well at a position that he'd already played 502 big-league games at prior to Cano's suspension, but the latter would also be ineligible for any postseason play under the terms of his ban. With the Mariners looking like one of the top five teams in baseball over the first two months-plus of the campaign, Dipoto emphasizes that the player that would man the keystone during a potential playoff run needs to continue receiving regular reps at the position, especially during the season's stretch run. "That could allow for a time-share, so to speak, where we keep everybody sharp," Dipoto said. "But we do know Dee is going to have to play second base as we come down the stretch. Because if we want to be in the postseason -- which we do -- then we know who our second baseman is going to be. And it's going to be Dee Gordon."

Adames went 1-for-2 with two RBI from a run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly and also walked once in a win over the Blue Jays on Monday.

The rookie wasted no time making an impact in his return to the big leagues, getting the Rays to within a run with a timely third-inning single that plated Jake Bauers and then closing out the scoring on the night with his seventh-inning sacrifice fly. Adames' current stay with the big-league club figures to last through Daniel Robertson's DL stint at minimum, and he could conceivably carve out a long-term roster spot with an impressive enough performance.

Fletcher is hitting .353/.398/.566 with six home runs, seven stolen bases and a 16:21 BB:K across 270 plate appearances for Triple-A Salt Lake this season.

Throughout all of his stops in the minors prior to this season, Fletcher has always displayed impressive contact skills along with a modicum of speed, but his lack of slugging production was expected to damage his chances of emerging as a big-league regular. The 24-year-old has seemingly altered his long-term outlook for the better in his repeat season at Triple-A, as he has maintained his high contact rate while tapping into more power than anticipated. Fletcher has already racked up a minors-best 36 extra-base hits on the campaign, putting him well on track to top his total from the previous two years combined (47). Though the Angels currently have a void in the middle infield with Andrelton Simmons (ankle) on the 10-day disabled list, Fletcher's lack of a 40-man roster spot likely hurts his chances of a promotion in the near future, even though his performance at Salt Lake has warranted one.

Bichette went 3-for-4 with a trio of base hits, a walk, two RBI and three stolen bases for Double-A New Hampshire in its 7-5 win over Bowie on Sunday.

With uber prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (knee) on the shelf for at least the next four weeks, Bichette becomes the main attraction at New Hampshire. He certainly didn't disappoint in the lead role Sunday, putting his speed and high-contact and on-base skills on full display in one of his more complete performances of the season. After struggling at the plate for much of May, Bichette's bat has heated up of late with a .361/.425/.500 slash line through the first 10 games of June. He has also been efficient on the basepaths throughout the campaign, posting a 20-for-25 success rate on stolen-base attempts.

Adames was promoted to the majors Monday to replaced the injured Daniel Robertson (hamstring).

Adames made a brief major-league debut in late May, going 2-for-12 with a homer over three games. He has a promising profile, with the potential to hit for both power and average from the shortstop position. The 22-year-old has hit a solid .286/.356/.424 in 54 games for Triple-A Durham so far this season. Whether or not Adames will be up for good this time is not yet clear. The Rays are notoriously slow with their prospects, but the young shortstop has now played nearly a season and a half at the Triple-A level and has little left to prove in the minors.

Anderson went 0-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over Boston.

Anderson worked a bases-loaded walk against Rick Porcello in the third inning, then alertly came around from second base on a 3-1 putout on which Porcello stumbled after taking the throw from Mitch Moreland. This was Anderson's fourth multi-walk game of the season, three more than the free-swinging shortstop had during his first two seasons in the majors. He has now walked 20 times over 243 plate appearances (8.3 BB%) this season, after accepting just 13 free passes over 606 plate appearances (2.2 BB%) in 2017.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch said that he expects Correa (side) to rejoin the lineup Tuesday against the Athletics, Hunter Atkins of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Correa will be sidelined for a fourth straight game Sunday against the Rangers while he recovers from a sore right side, but it appears a trip to the disabled list won't be necessary for the star shortstop. He was able to put in a workout in the infield Sunday, and with a team off day Monday, the Astros anticipate that Correa will be healthy enough to suit up for the series opener in Oakland. Correa's return to the starting nine would result in Marwin Gonzalez shifting back to left field on a regular basis.

Lindor will start at shortstop and bat cleanup Sunday against the Tigers, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

With a big bopper in Edwin Encarnacion (ankle) missing from the lineup for the second day in a row, the Indians elected to move Lindor from his usual leadoff post to add some thump to the heart of the order. Expect Lindor to slide back into the table-setting role once Encarnacion is cleared to rejoin the starting nine, perhaps as soon as Monday's series opener with the White Sox.

Correa (side) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Correa will be on the bench for a fourth consecutive contest while he battles right side discomfort, resulting in Marwin Gonzalez picking up another turn at shortstop. The 23-year-old was expected to go through fielding drills prior to Sunday's contest and will have the benefit of a team off day Monday, offering optimism that he'll be back in the fold for the Astros' series opener Tuesday in Oakland. Unfortunately for fantasy owners in weekly leagues with lineups that lock Monday, official word on Correa's status for the Oakland series seems unlikely to come until Tuesday.
