  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Streak reaches double digits

Anderson went 1-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Athletics.

Anderson has hit safely in 10 straight games, going 18-for-43 (.419) with a 1.026 OPS. It would be nice to see that hitting produce runs, but it hasn't as Anderson has just one RBI (a home run) during his streak. Most of his plate appearances this season have come from the second and seventh spots in the order, which are not traditionally run-producing slots.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Cracks three-run homer

Correa went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's loss to Baltimore.

Correa launched a three-run homer in the second inning, but the Astros would fall in the series finale. The 24-year-old finished out his team's weekend series on a high note, going 5-for-11 with two homers and five RBI over his last two contests.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Delivers multi-hit performance

Bichette went 2-for-4 in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.

Bichette went 0-for-7 to begin Toronto's weekend series with New York, but he managed to scratch across a pair of base knocks Sunday in a 1-0 loss. The 21-year-old rookie continues to rack up hits in the big leagues, slashing .367/.424/.717 with 13 extra-base hits and seven RBI over 14 games.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Red Sox's Chris Owings: Promoted, leading off against Halos

Owings' contract was selected from Triple-A Pawtucket, and he is leading off and starting at second base Sunday against the Angels, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

He played second base, third base, shortstop and all three outfield spots while at Pawtucket, so Owings is seemingly prepared for a utility role with Boston. He hit .133 in 145 plate appearances with the Royals earlier this season and batted .325/.385/.595 with 11 home runs in 44 games with Pawtucket.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Batting seventh in return

Gordon will start at second base and bat seventh in Saturday's game against the Rays.

Gordon was activated from the injured list just prior to Saturday's game and will man second base. His slot as the seventh batter in the order is noteworthy, as he has primarily been either the leadoff or ninth hitter for the M's this season.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Activated from injured list

Gordon (quadriceps) was activated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Gordon was placed on the IL on July 23 for what was supposed to be a relatively short stay. While his absence was longer than expected, it may have given him enough time to fully heal, an important factor given the value of his speed. Gordon should be set to regain his role as the regular starter at second base.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Taking restricted swings

Wendle (wrist) took swings in Tampa on Friday but is still being asked to exercise caution on his follow-through, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

The step is an important one for Wendle considering his wrist is the cause of his injured-list stay. However, the fact he still is restricted is indicative the utility man is likely still some time away from activation.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Nearing return to action

Gordon (quadriceps) will be examined by the team doctor Friday to determine whether he's ready to begin a rehab assignment, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Assuming his visit with the doctor goes well, Gordon should be cleared to either embark on a rehab stint or even get activated from the IL immediately. He's been on the injured list since July 23 due to a strained left quad.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Keeps setting records

Bichette went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI in Thursday's loss to the Yankees.

Making his home debut for the Blue Jays, Bichette became the first rookie since Ted Williams in 1939 to collect an extra-base hit in nine straight games, and in the process he became the first player in MLB history with a two-bagger in nine straight contests. His 13 XBH (nine doubles, four homers) in his first 11 big-league games is also a major-league record, and he's set a host of franchise marks as well, notably by beginning his career with an 11-game hit streak. Bichette's .408/.453/.837 slash line is inevitably going to come down at some point, but the 21-year-old is demonstrating that his status as an elite hitting prospect was more than just hype.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Eight-game doubles streak

Bichette went 1-for-3 with a walk and a double in Wednesday's win over the Rays.

The rookie's dazzling start to his MLB career continues. Bichette has now smashed a double in eight straight games, setting a new Jays record in the process, and through his first 10 big-league games, he's slashing a ridiculous .409/.458/.795.
