The Diamondbacks optioned Drake to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Drake was lit up for five earned runs in four innings during his spot start Friday against the Giants, and the Diamondbacks will now send him back to the minors in order to open up a spot on the active roster for right-hander Derek Law, who was called up from Reno. Drake now carries a 6.53 ERA and 1.50 WHIP through 20.2 frames with Arizona this season but could still be tapped for another start if the big club's rotation depth is tested further during the final month of the campaign.

Feltner was scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against Atlanta due to an illness, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Manager Warren Schaeffer said that Feltner spent much of Friday night vomiting, so the Rockies will pull him off his start and instead send Zach Agnos to the mound in the first inning. Feltner could still be available out of the bullpen if he manages to arrive at the park before the end of the game.

Hancock (groin) was moving around well Saturday, per Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com.

Hancock felt something in his left leg as he went to make a tag in the first inning of Friday's game, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. The right-hander gutted it out and completed five innings in a loss, at least saving the bullpen some extra stress. "If you feel like you can go out there and compete and throw the ball, then that's what I wanted to do," Hancock added after the game. While Saturday's update is encouraging, the Mariners will give it another day or two before determining Hancock's availability for his next start.

Schmidt (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Saturday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

This marks Schmidt's return to a competitive setting for the first time in nearly 14 months following internal brace surgery. While the fantasy implications are minimal since Schmidt is not expected to have time to build up to a starter's workload, the right-hander appears on track to contribute down the stretch as a member of the Yankees' bullpen.

The Marlins recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.

Gonzalez will reach the majors for the first time this season to add a fresh arm to Miami's bullpen, replacing Patrick Monteverde. Gonzalez will likely be limited to low-leverage work after turning in a 6.59 ERA and 1.74 WHIP through 28.2 innings at Triple-A.

Wilkinson was added to the active roster as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks and will start Game 1.

Wilkinson gave up four runs over 5.2 innings while working primarily as an opener during his last stint with the Giants. He'll now rejoin the big club to pitch in Saturday's twin bill and has a chance to remain in the majors beyond the weekend as one of the replacements for Carson Whisenhunt (elbow) and Adrian Houser (forearm).

Taillon (forearm) struck out two and allowed four runs on three hits and two walks over 3.1 innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

Making his first rehab start since landing on the injured list Aug. 11 due to forearm tendinitis, the veteran right-hander was sharp through three innings before falling apart in the fourth. Taillon exited after 48 pitches (34 strikes), and though his velocity was down slightly from his slightly from his season-long average during the start, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com points out that diminished velocity isn't unusual for a rehabbing pitcher. The Blue Jays are in dire need of a fifth starter since Shane Bieber (shoulder) joined Trey Yesavage (knee) on the IL along with Taillon, but it's not yet clear if Taillon will make his next appearance with Buffalo or with the big club. Either way, he'll likely be limited to around 60 pitches.

The Yankees added Beck to the active roster to serve as the 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox.

Beck has surrendered seven earned runs in just 6.2 innings with the Yankees this year, but he'll rejoin the big club to provide New York with extra bullpen depth for Saturday's twin bill. He'll likely head back to Triple-A after the end of the day's festivities.

Mathews (1-2) earned the win Friday against the Pirates after allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over 5.2 innings. He also hit a batter.

Mathews made his first start since manager Oliver Marmol said last Sunday that the lefty would remain in the team's rotation for the foreseeable future, and Mathews responded by delivering the best outing of his young career. Mathews threw 63 of 102 pitches for strikes and matched his career high with seven strikeouts while completing a career-best 5.2 innings. The strong outing lowered his ERA from 6.43 to 5.03 through four starts. His next start will be a tough test, however, as he's scheduled to face the Dodgers on the road.

Jones (2-6) took the loss Friday against the Cardinals after allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings.

Jones kept the Cardinals scoreless through two innings before Nolan Gorman doubled and Jimmy Crooks followed with a two-run homer in the third. This was the third straight game in which Jones struck out at least five while allowing three earned runs or fewer, but he's also failed to pitch more than five innings in any of those outings. Jones owns a 5.26 ERA with a 44:16 K:BB in eight starts and 37.2 innings since the All-Star break, and he's scheduled to make his next start at home against the Giants.
