Povich (hip) is scheduled to make another rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Norfolk, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

After building up to 70 pitches and five innings in the fourth appearance of his rehab assignment this past Thursday for Norfolk, Povich looked to be an option to return from the 15-day injured list to start one game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays, but the Orioles have instead called up righty Brandon Young from High-A Aberdeen to cover the bulk of the innings for the second game of the twin bill. Povich, meanwhile, will remain on assignment for Norfolk, and assuming he's able to get further stretched out Tuesday, he could be activated from the IL ahead of his next appearance. The Orioles don't appear to have room in the five-man rotation for Povich at the moment, but a spot could open up for the young lefty if Baltimore moves a starter ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

Blackburn (shoulder) threw 87 pitches (56 strikes) for Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.

The veteran righty has looked good on his rehab stint, and over two appearances for Syracuse he's posted an 11:2 K:BB in 11.1 innings with a 1.59 ERA. While the Mets have Blackburn stretched out for a potential starting role, there doesn't appear to be room for him in the big-league rotation at the moment, and the team won't need a sixth starter until the second half of August due to frequent off days. Frankie Montas could get bumped to a long-relief role, but Blackburn is the more likely candidate to move to the bullpen once he gets activated.

France (shoulder) is scheduled to make the third start of his rehab assignment later this week at Triple-A Sugar Land, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

After covering 1.1 innings in his first rehab start July 21 in the rookie-level Florida Complex League, France moved up to Double-A Corpus Christi for his most recent outing Sunday, when he allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three over two innings. The right-hander will likely continue to increase his innings and pitch counts over at least two more rehab outings as he gets stretched back out after undergoing surgery last July to repair a torn right shoulder capsule. France has a minor-league option remaining, so the Astros could keep him at Sugar Land once his rehab assignment ends and he gets activated from the 60-day injured list.

Alexander will start Tuesday's game against the Nationals in Houston.

Alexander is likely to be optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land or moved to the bullpen once the Astros get one or two of their four rehabbing starters (Spencer Arrighetti, Cristian Javier, Luis Garcia and J.P. France) back from the injured list, but until then, he should maintain a spot in the rotation. The southpaw will pick up his second straight start despite struggling in a loss to the Athletics following his call-up from Triple-A on Thursday, when he was charged with five earned runs on 11 hits and two walks over six innings.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday on the "Talkin' Yanks" podcast by Jomboy Media that Gil (lat) is lined up to make his season debut Sunday against the Marlins.

Gil is slated to throw 75 pitches in his fourth rehab start Tuesday, and if he comes out of that outing with no issues, the right-hander will rejoin the Yankees' rotation Sunday in Miami. The reigning American League Rookie of the Year has been out all season while recovering from a right lat strain.

Paddack, who was acquired in a trade with Minnesota on Monday, is set to start Wednesday in Detroit's series finale versus the Diamondbacks at Comerica Park, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Paddack will be taking the rotation spot of Reese Olson, who will miss the rest of the regular season due to a right shoulder strain. The former last took the mound July 23, so he'll be taking the hill Wednesday on six days' rest. In 21 outing with the Twins this season, Paddack posted a 4.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 83 strikeouts across 111 innings. While he gives Detroit a veteran presence at the back end of the rotation as the team contends with injuries to starting pitchers, Paddack's numbers don't give fantasy managers much optimism that he'll be a high-end contributor down the stretch.

The Blue Jays recalled Lucas from Triple-A Buffalo, and he'll start in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Orioles in Baltimore.

Lucas will rejoin Toronto for the first time since late May, after he had previously turned in a 5.82 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 21.2 innings over five appearances (four starts) with the big club prior to being demoted to Triple-A. His results with Buffalo haven't been much better (5.35 ERA, 1.48 WHIP in 33.2 frames), but Toronto will look for the 28-year-old southpaw to eat some innings in the front end of the twin bill before he likely heads back to Triple-A after the outing. Lucas will be taking the hill on three days' rest after making a three-inning start for Buffalo this past Friday, so the Blue Jays could keep his workload somewhat in check.

The Orioles recalled Young from High-A Aberdeen and have designated him as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays at Camden Yards, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Young is expected to start the second game of the twin bill. The right-hander hasn't fared well during his previous opportunities with the big club, collecting a 7.77 ERA over five starts. Young is likely to be returned to Norfolk after the spot start.

The Blue Jays are expected to promote Rojas from Double-A New Hampshire to Triple-A Buffalo this week, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Rojas got off to a delayed start to the 2025 campaign after suffering a midsection injury in spring training that kept him out for about two months, but he's been electric since debuting in late May. After tossing 13 scoreless innings in his four starts with High-A Vancouver, Rojas was promoted to New Hampshire in early July and has continued to overwhelm hitters. In four outings at Double-A, Rojas has submitted a 4.34 ERA, but his stellar 30:2 K:BB in 18.2 innings provides a better illustration of his dominance.

Bieber (elbow) will make his next rehab start Tuesday for Double-A Akron, MLB.com reports.

Bieber had been scheduled to make the third start of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, but the game was postponed due to rain. He got up to 43 pitches in his previous rehab start one week ago, which suggests he'll need to complete at least two more outings in the minors before returning from the 60-day injured list. The possibility exists a team could trade for Bieber ahead of Thursday's deadline, and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the right-hander's start Tuesday is expected to be heavily scouted. He has a $16 million player option for 2026, but a high-payroll team could see him as a risk worth taking.
