The Athletics optioned Morris to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Morris gave up nine earned runs in just four innings during his MLB debut Saturday, and he'll now be sent back down to the minors in favor of Joey Estes. Morris owns a 4.45 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 60.2 innings at Las Vegas and could rejoin the A's at some point later this summer if he gets back on track with the Aviators.

Kochanowicz will undergo Tommy John surgery, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Kochanowicz landed on the injured list Sunday due to right elbow inflammation, and an MRI revealed Tuesday that he suffered a torn UCL. The procedure will bring his season to an early end and force him to miss most, if not all, of the 2027 campaign as well.

The Cubs placed Taillon on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain, Vinnie Duber of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Taillon was able to make it through just one inning during his start Sunday before exiting with a strained hamstring, and he'll now officially have to wait at least two more weeks before making his next appearance on a big-league mound. Ethan Roberts was recalled from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move, and Javier Assad, who pitched 6.1 innings following Taillon's removal Sunday, is a likely candidate to move into the Cubs' rotation.

Waldrep (elbow) had his rehab assignment transferred to Double-A Columbus, where he will make his next start Thursday, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

The right-hander covered two frames in both of his rehab outings in the rookie-level Florida Complex League, setting the stage for him to move to the upper minors. Those appearances marked Waldrep's first game action since September as he works his way back from an offseason elbow procedure. He'll likely require a couple more minor-league starts after Thursday before making his 2026 debut for Atlanta.

The Royals activated Kolek from the family medical emergency list Tuesday.

Kolek was away from the club for a few days while tending to a personal matter, but he's back in time to start Tuesday's contest at home versus the Rangers. The right-hander has logged a 3.32 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB over 38 innings covering six starts for Kansas City this season.

Toronto activated Cease (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

After landing on the IL with a strained hamstring May 25, Cease will rejoin the Blue Jays' rotation having made one rehab start at Triple-A. Before landing on the IL, the 30-year-old recorded a 3.05 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 92:26 K:BB in 62 innings. Toronto will send down Adam Macko to Triple-A Buffalo in order to make room for Cease on the active roster.

The Brewers transferred Priester (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Saturday.

Priester has been on the shelf all season while recovering from symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome, so his move to the 60-day IL was merely procedural. The right-hander remains in the midst of a rehab assignment, but he's shown little sign of regaining the form that made him a vital part of the Milwaukee rotation in 2025. After struggling to a 21.60 ERA and 3.60 WHIP over 10 innings in six rehab starts between High-A Wisconsin and Triple-A Nashville from April 22 through May 27, Priester recently had his assignment transferred to the Arizona Complex League. He was once again lacking in command in his second appearance in the ACL on Monday, spotting just 35 of his 73 pitches for strikes over 2.2 innings while generating four punchouts and yielding three earned runs on one hit and five walks. He also hit a batter and threw three wild pitches.

Bucknam will miss all of 2026 and some of 2027 recovering from elbow surgery, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.

The Jays' fourth-round selection in last year's draft, Bucknam will have to wait until at least next summer to make his pro debut.

Laroche is sidelined in the Arizona Complex League due to a strained right rotator cuff, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports.

Laroche gets high marks for his current low-to-mid-90s fastball velocity that doesn't require significant effort as well as his projectable 6-foot-1 frame. He had a 2.11 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB in 38.1 innings while repeating the Dominican Summer League last year.

Single-A Fort Wayne placed Kemp on the 60-day injured list April 22 with a left oblique injury, J.J. Cooper of Baseball America reports.

He suffered the injury right before he was set to make his first start of the year for the TinCaps. Kemp, 21, logged a 5.52 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 64 strikeouts in 77.2 innings in the lower levels last year.
