Buehler (1-1) earned the win against the Cardinals on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts over five innings.

Buehler benefited from eight runs of support, as he allowed five runs over his final three innings. He threw 54 of 83 pitches for strikes with 10 whiffs but was burned by two home runs. The 30-year-old has struggled early with an 8.68 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB over 9.1 innings with the Red Sox. He's slated to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

The Rangers recalled Corbin from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

The original plan was for Corbin to join the Rangers around April 11, but Jack Leiter's move to the injured list Friday with a blister issue has forced the team to work a bit ahead of schedule. Assuming he slides right into Leiter's place in the rotation, Corbin will make his season debut Tuesday against the Cubs.

Leiter (blister) was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday.

Leiter has gotten off to an excellent start to the season, allowing only one earned run across 10 innings. However, he exited his start prematurely Wednesday due to the blister issue. He'll now be sidelined until at least April 17, as the move is retroactive to April 2.

Megill (2-0) earned the win over the Blue Jays on Friday, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out four over 5.1 shutout innings.

Megill has been strong to begin the season, giving up one run on five hits and four walks while striking out 10 over his first 10.1 innings. He threw 48 of 82 pitches for strikes in his second start of the campaign, racking up nine whiffs. His fastball was back down to an average of 95.3 mph, just a little under his 2024 season average and 1.1 mph less than his season debut. The right-hander is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Marlins next week.

Gausman (1-1) allowed three runs on two hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout over 5.1 innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Mets.

Gausman was tagged for a two-run home run by Pete Alonso in the first inning, but he settled down fairly well after that. The Mets started making more noise in the sixth, and Gausman was charged with one of the three runs in that inning. Gausman has allowed five runs over 11.1 innings with a 4:3 K:BB over his first two starts this season. He was given extra rest after his first start, but there was no indication of any physical issues involved in that decision. If he pitches on normal rest his next time out, he would line up for a road start in Boston.

The Angels recalled Dana from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Dana will join the big-league squad as the roster replacement for Ryan Johnson, who was placed on the paternity list Friday. Dana made three starts for the Halos last season, allowing 11 earned runs over 10.1 innings while striking out eight and walking seven. He'll presumably work out of the bullpen during his current stint in the big leagues and is likely to be sent back down to Triple-A once Johnson returns.

Manaea said Friday that his strained right oblique is feeling good after receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection Tuesday, Manny Gomez of NJ.com reports.

Manaea is still only three days into his two-week no-throw period following his injection, but the fact that he's beginning to feel better is encouraging after he had struggled with the injury for most of spring training. Once he's cleared to begin throwing, the Mets will likely build the 33-year-old back up slowly, and he'll presumably make a few rehab starts in the minors before his season debut.

Cannon (0-1) took the loss against the Tigers on Friday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 3.2 innings.

Cannon surrendered a solo shot to Kerry Carpenter in the first inning and yielded two more runs in the third. He struggled to miss bats, recording just seven whiffs, and was pulled before completing the fourth inning after reaching 88 pitches. The 24-year-old owns a 3.12 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB through 8.2 innings this season and lines up to face the Guardians next week.

Flaherty (1-0) earned the win against the White Sox on Friday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Flaherty allowed his only run on a second-inning double and was lifted just one out shy of a quality start after reaching 95 pitches. The 29-year-old has delivered steady performances in each of his first two outings, compiling a 2.38 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB across 11.1 innings. He'll face a tough test at home against the Yankees next week.

Manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that the Rangers are monitoring Leiter's finger blister and will soon decide whether a stint on the injured list is necessary, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

The 24-year-old exited Wednesday's start due to the blister and could probably pitch through the issue, but Texas is considering whether to instead allow it to heal up over the next couple weeks. Patrick Corbin is expected step into the starting rotation if Leiter ends up missing any time.
