Bassitt (3-2) earned the win Thursday against the Angels after allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out six.

Bassitt may have given up a season-high five runs Thursday, but that didn't prevent him from throwing at least five innings in his eighth consecutive start to begin the campaign. While the right-hander matched a season worst with eight hits allowed and served up two long balls in his third straight outing, he issued one walk or less for the sixth time already this year. Bassitt will carry a solid 3.35 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 49:8 K:BB over 45.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance at home versus the Rays, who have struggled with a .624 OPS over their 12 road games.

Soriano didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Blue Jays after allowing three runs on eight hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out six.

Soriano notably escaped a bases-loaded jam in the opening frame, but he tied a season high in walks Thursday. The right-hander has been erratic so far in 2025, as he's hurled at least six innings while giving up one run or less on three occasions but failed to make it through six innings while yielding at least three runs in his other five appearances. Soriano will be a risky fantasy play in his next scheduled start against the Padres next week, as he owns a rocky 4.00 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 37:20 K:BB over 45 innings on the campaign.

Yamamoto (4-3) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings to take the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Yamamoto navigated a little trouble the first time through the order, but the Diamondbacks got to him in the fourth inning. Gabriel Moreno tagged him for a grand slam to open the scoring in that frame, and Ketel Marte added a solo home run an inning later. The five runs allowed were more than Yamamoto had allowed over his last five starts combined, a stretch in which he gave up four runs (one earned) in 30 innings. He's given up a pair of homers in two of his eight starts so far, but he hasn't seen a ball leave the yard in the other six. Even with this season-worst performance, Yamamoto is at a 1.80 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB through 45 innings. He'll look to right the ship versus the Athletics next week.

Pfaadt (6-2) allowed four hits and three walks while striking out six over 6.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday over the Dodgers.

Pfaadt had his worst start of the year his last time out, allowing seven runs (six earned) in 4.2 innings versus the Phillies. He rebounded against another tough foe, posting his fifth quality start and second scoreless outing of the season while keeping the Dodgers' offense in check. Pfaadt is now at a 3.28 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB over 46.2 innings across eight starts this season, which is looking like a breakout year, though he is giving up a few too many baserunners. He's lined up to make his next start on the road in San Francisco.

Schwellenbach didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Reds after allowing one run on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out six.

It was a strong bounce-back performance from Schwellenbach, who had given up 17 earned runs over his previous four starts after allowing just one through his first three outings in 2025. The right-hander's five hits allowed were his fewest since April 4, and his six punchouts also matched his most over his last six appearances. Schwellenbach will carry a quality 3.61 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB over 47.1 innings into his next scheduled start, currently projected for next week versus the Nationals.

Lodolo didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Atlanta after allowing two runs on five hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out seven.

Lodolo's seven punchouts fell just two short of his season high, and he didn't lend a free pass for the third time in eight starts this year. It was also an encouraging rebound effort from the left-hander, who surrendered a season-high six earned runs on 10 hits in his previous start. Lodolo has proven to be a bit volatile this season, as he's fired at least six innings while conceding two runs or fewer on five occasions but yielded at least three runs and failed to get through the fifth frame in his other three outings. He boasts a 3.23 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 38:7 K:BB over 47.1 innings overall, and he'll sport plenty of fantasy upside versus the lowly White Sox in his next scheduled start.

Freeland (0-5) allowed nine runs (five earned) on 11 hits and a walk while striking out two over three innings to take the loss in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Tigers.

Freeland had his worst outing of the season, though it wasn't all his fault. The southpaw has failed to complete five innings in his last three home starts, giving up a total of 18 runs (12 earned) over 9.1 innings in that stretch. The Rockies are even worse than usual this year, so Freeland is a risky option in all fantasy formats. He has a 6.41 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB across 39.1 innings over eight starts this season. His next outing is projected to be on the road versus the Rangers.

Pepiot didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Phillies after allowing one run on two hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out three.

While Pepiot did fail to fan more than three in his third straight start, that didn't stop him from holding the Phillies in check. The right-hander gave up a season-low two hits, and he also threw six innings while conceding one run or less for the third time in eight starts this season. Pepiot has just seven punchouts over his past three outings, but he's yielded just four runs and hasn't surrendered a single long ball during this stretch. He'll take a steady 3.86 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB across 44.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Blue Jays, who have a weak .646 OPS against right-handed pitching through 36 games.

Luzardo didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rays after allowing two runs on six hits and two walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

Luzardo has now tossed at least five innings in each of his first eight starts of the season. Although he's fanned more than six just once in his last six outings, the left-hander still induced 13 whiffs Thursday. Luzardo has also yet to surrender greater than three runs in any of his eight starts this year, and he served up just his second home run of the campaign against Tampa Bay. He'll bring an excellent 2.11 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51:13 K:BB across 47 innings into his next scheduled appearance, which is slated for next week versus the Cardinals.

Montero (1-1) allowed one run on five hits and three walks while striking out two over eight innings to earn the win in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Rockies.

Starters Casey Mize and Montero combined to cover 14 of the 18 innings in the twin bill, with Montero doing an excellent job to preserve the bullpen in the nightcap. He was efficient as well, throwing 66 of 92 pitches for strikes, though Beau Brieske handled the ninth inning of the 11-1 win. Over four major-league starts, Montero has a 4.15 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 15:10 K:BB across 21.2 innings. While he didn't impress in his first two starts of the season, he's been positive as a spot starter in doubleheaders recently and should be the first man up if there's an opening in the Tigers' rotation. However, it's expected he'll return to Triple-A Toledo after being the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader.
