The Dodgers acquired Skubal from the Tigers on Saturday in exchange for outfielder Zyhir Hope and right-handers River Ryan (hamstring) and Brady Smith, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Skubal, the biggest domino to fall ahead of Monday's deadline, will head west to the two-time defending World Series champions and form a lethal one-two punch with Yoshinobu Yamamoto atop the rotation. The acquisition of Skubal will give the Dodgers some more stability to the pitching staff while the rotation navigates the absences of Blake Snell (elbow) and Tyler Glasnow (back) along with Shohei Ohtani, who is working solely as a designated hitter while tending to a lingering knee issue. The two-time American League Cy Young Award winner turned in a 2.79 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 116:14 K:BB over 96.2 innings this season for Detroit.

Abbott (5-7) took the loss Saturday against the Pirates, allowing three runs on three hits and five walks in five innings. He struck out one.

Lack of control has been an issue for Abbott throughout the year, and the hurler matched a season worst in walks Saturday while tying a season low in punchouts. The southpaw has an alarming 25:19 K:BB over his last six starts (32 innings), but he's still managed to work at least five frames in 16 of his last 17 outings. Abbott is set to take a 3.91 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 95:59 K:BB across 122 innings into a difficult road matchup against the Nationals.

Ashcraft (11-4) notched the win Saturday against the Reds, allowing one run on two hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out five.

Ashcraft likely would have come out for the sixth inning if not for nearly a two-hour rain delay Saturday, as his 69 pitches were a season low amid a strong outing. It was a promising start to the month of August for the All-Star righty, who yielded a staggering 17 earned runs over 19.2 innings for a 7.78 ERA and 1.73 WHIP during July. Ashcraft will take a 3.96 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 140:31 K:BB across 127.1 innings into his next scheduled appearance in Milwaukee.

Peterson did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-2 win against the Yankees, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over 6.1 innings.

Despite posting a quality start and tying a season high with eight punchouts, Peterson departed in line for the loss after allowing a solo homer in the seventh inning before the Cubs eventually rallied to take him off the hook. The southpaw has been excellent to open the second half, yielding just three earned runs over three outings with a solid 15:3 K:BB in that span. He'll carry a 5.52 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 85:40 K:BB across 101 innings with the Mets and Cubs into a home matchup with the Blue Jays next week.

Fried did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Cubs, allowing one run on two hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Fried allowed a run in the first inning but settled in from there, throwing 54 of 78 pitches for strikes with 12 whiffs before departing in a 1-1 tie. The southpaw has increased his workload in each of his three starts since returning from the injured list July 22, allowing four earned runs over 13.1 innings during that stretch while posting a healthy 18:4 K:BB. He'll take a 3.12 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 68:23 K:BB across 75 innings this season into a home matchup with Atlanta next weekend.

DeGrom (7-7) took the loss against the Astros on Saturday, allowing five runs on seven hits and five walks with three strikeouts over 3.1 innings.

DeGrom was uncharacteristically wild, issuing a season-high five walks while throwing just 52 of 91 pitches for strikes. It was the 38-year-old's shortest outing since a three-inning struggle May 22 in Anaheim, though it's the third time in his past seven starts that he's yielded five or more earned runs. He owns a 3.96 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 135:29 K:BB across 113.2 innings this season and will aim to rebound in a home matchup with the Orioles next weekend.

Blanco did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Rangers, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Blanco allowed three runs over the third and fourth innings, throwing 53 of 82 pitches for strikes overall and falling one out shy of qualifying for his first win of the season. After spending the first half of the campaign completing his rehab from Tommy John surgery, the 32-year-old has now yielded 12 earned runs and five homers over three outings with the Astros, though Saturday marked the first time he didn't surrender multiple long balls. He'll take a 7.36 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB across 14.2 innings into a road matchup with the Padres next weekend.

Atlanta traded Braun and Carter Holton to Kansas City on Saturday in exchange for Lane Thomas and Bailey Falter, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Braun has been in Atlanta's organization since 2023 but will now look to work his way up to the majors with the Royals. He has split his time this season between Double-A and Triple-A, and between the two levels he has a 3.53 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 82:27 K:BB over 94.1 innings. He'll begin his stint with the Royals at Triple-A Omaha.

Holton and Lucas Braun were traded by Atlanta to Kansas City on Saturday in exchange for Lane Thomas and Bailey Falter, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Holton was a second-round selection of Atlanta in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft but will now look to work his way up the Royals' farm system. He's spent most of the 2026 season in Single-A, where has a 2-1 record over seven outings (six starts) with a 5.08 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB over 33.2 innings.

Baz (4-10) took the loss Saturday against the Phillies, allowing one run on six hits and one walk in 6.1 innings. He struck out four.

It was a hard-luck loss for Baz, who held an imposing Philadelphia lineup scoreless until the fifth inning. The right-hander has found his groove after opening the year with a 5.48 ERA through his first eight starts, as he's logged nine quality starts in his last 14 outings and given up more two runs just four times during that span. Baz will carry a 3.86 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 111:45 K:BB over 128.1 frames into his next scheduled appearance in Texas.
