  • Mike Soroka SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Michael Soroka: Strikes out eight in win

Soroka (6-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out eight over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Rockies on Sunday.

Soroka escaped a Coors Field start without allowing a homer, and the eight strikeouts were his most in any of his last six outings. He's now allowed two runs or less in seven of his nine starts this season, including in each of his last three, though he came up an out short of a quality start. For the season, he has a 3.49 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 55:14 K:BB through 49 innings. Soroka is projected to make his next start at home in a rematch with the Rockies.

  • Rockies' Michael Lorenzen: Loses fourth straight start

Lorenzen (2-6) allowed seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Diamondbacks.

This was Lorenzen's fourth straight loss, and he's allowed 20 runs (19 earned) over 20 innings in that span. This is the third time in five home outings he's been on the hook for at least six earned runs. Overall, he has a 7.03 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 36:17 K:BB across 48.2 innings over 11 appearances (10 starts). Lorenzen's next start is projected to be a rematch with the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

  • Robert Gasser SP | MIL

Brewers' Robert Gasser: Shaky pitching in season debut

Gasser allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits, two walks and three hit batsmen while striking out three over four innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Sunday.

Gasser made his fist big-league start of the season, but it wasn't a particularly good showing. He's now plunked eight batters over eight big-league appearances in his career. Prior to his call-up, he posted a 3.74 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB across 21.2 innings over six starts with Triple-A Nashville. The strikeout potential is there, but he still has control issues to work through as he builds up in his first full season following Tommy John surgery in June of 2024.

  • Eric Lauer SP | LAD

Dodgers' Eric Lauer: Expected to be used out of bullpen

Lauer is expected to be used primarily as a relief pitcher with the Dodgers, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Lauer will join Los Angeles after posting an inflated 6.69 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 36.1 innings in eight appearances, including six starts, with Toronto this year. The 30-year-old will be used as a reliever/swingman according to new manager Dave Roberts, likely setting him up for an occasional start. With Blake Snell (elbow) set to be sidelined for multiple months, Lauer will give the Dodgers a new left-handed option on the mound moving forward.

  • Miles Mikolas SP | WAS

Nationals' Miles Mikolas: Allows two homers in bulk relief

Mikolas did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Orioles, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Mikolas threw 61 of 93 pitches for strikes but coughed up four runs, three of which came via the long ball. It actually marked the longest outing of the year for the veteran, who owns a 6.91 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 28:14 K:BB across 41.2 innings this season while making six starts and working behind an opener four times. Regardless of role, his next matchup lines up as a difficult road test against Atlanta next weekend.

  • Zack Wheeler SP | PHI

Phillies' Zack Wheeler: Continues dealing in third win

Wheeler (3-0) notched the win Sunday against the Pirates, allowing no runs on four hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out eight.

Wheeler was already enjoying a successful comeback from last year's shoulder surgery, but Sunday's performance might have been his best of the campaign so far. The 35-year-old right-hander matched a season high in punchouts, and he also submitted his first scoreless start of the season. Wheeler, who has now logged four consecutive quality starts, will be trying to keep the good times rolling in a favorable home matchup against Cleveland for his next scheduled appearance. He has a sparkling 1.99 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB across 31.2 innings.

  • Eury Perez SP | MIA

Marlins' Eury Perez: Loses fifth straight Sunday

Perez (2-6) took the loss against the Rays on Sunday, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

The same command issues that have plagued Perez for much of the season were his undoing Sunday, as he allowed two homers and walked four batters while throwing 63 of 102 pitches for strikes. During his current five-start losing streak, the 23-year-old has posted a 6.55 ERA while surrendering six long balls and issuing 16 free passes. He'll take a disappointing 5.33 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 58:28 K:BB across 52.1 innings this season into a home start against the Mets next weekend.

  • Eric Lauer SP | LAD

Dodgers' Eric Lauer: Shipped to LAD

The Dodgers acquired Lauer from the Blue Jays on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.

The veteran left-hander was designated for assignment by Toronto on Monday but was able to land with the reigning World Series champions. Lauer has struggled to a 6.69 ERA across 36.1 innings this year, but he was a key piece for the Blue Jays in 2025 with a 3.18 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 102:26 K:BB in 28 regular-season appearances (15 starts). He'll provide Los Angeles with some much-needed rotation depth as Tyler Glasnow (back) and Blake Snell (elbow) are on the injured list.

  • Martin Perez SP | ATL

Braves' Martin Perez: Start pushed to Tuesday

Perez is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Marlins in Miami, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.

The veteran left-hander was originally penciled in to start Monday's series opener, but he's been pushed back a day after firing a scoreless inning of relief in Saturday's loss to Boston. Perez has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign with a 2.25 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB across 36 innings while starting in five of his nine appearances.

  • Charlie Barnes SP | LAD

Dodgers' Charlie Barnes: Sent to minors

The Dodgers optioned Barnes to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.

The left-hander was called up Friday and will return to Triple-A after delivering a scoreless frame in two appearances. Barnes has a 3.04 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB across 26.2 innings for Oklahoma City this year.
