Yamamoto (6-6) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out five over 6.1 innings, taking the loss Thursday versus the Padres.

Yamamoto turned in a quality start, but his rough June continued. He's 0-3 over four starts this month, allowing a total of 12 runs and four homers over 20.2 innings in that span. Yamamoto now has a 2.76 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 95:30 K:BB across 84.2 innings over 15 starts. All of his opponents this month have been north of .500, so that can explain some of the struggles. Yamamoto's next start is projected to be at Colorado -- even factoring in Coors Field, it's an opportunity for him to return to dominance against one of the league's weaker lineups.

Tidwell will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to start Friday's game against the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

After being recalled from Syracuse on Thursday, Justin Hagenman was originally expected to be saved for Friday's game to either start or work in bulk relief, but he was pressed into action in New York's series finale in Atlanta, covering 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in the Mets' 7-1 loss. With Hagenman no longer available for Friday, the Mets will turn to Tidwell to fill the vacancy in the rotation. Tidwell will be getting his second career MLB start after he surrendered six earned runs across 3.2 innings in his debut outing May 4 against the Cardinals.

Skenes did not factor into the decision Thursday in the nightcap of Thursday's doubleheader against the Tigers. He allowed two runs on three hits and five walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

It's the third straight no-decision for Skenes, who held the Tigers scoreless until Gleyber Torres' two-run double in the fifth inning despite issuing a season-high five walks. The 23-year-old Skenes has held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his last nine outings. Overall, he's 4-6 with an MLB-best 1.85 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 106:27 K:BB across 16 starts (102 innings). Skenes is currently scheduled to face the Brewers in his next outing.

McGreevy did not factor into the decision in Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts over five innings.

McGreevy allowed a solo homer in the second inning but was otherwise sharp, generating 11 whiffs on 76 pitches and exiting with a 6-1 lead. In three starts for the Cardinals this season, the 24-year-old has posted a 2.70 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB over 16.2 innings. According to Katie Woo of The Athletic, there's a good chance he gets another spot start sometime next week.

Strider (2-5) registered the win Thursday against the Mets, giving up one run on five hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out eight.

Strider followed up on his 13-strikeout performance his last time out with another heavy dose of swing-and-miss stuff Thursday. The hard-throwing right-hander induced 18 whiffs, and he's now logged his two highest strikeout totals for the season in his past two starts. Strider owns a 3.89 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 45:13 K:BB through his first 37 innings in 2025, and he's now put together a three-game streak of quality starts. He's tentatively set to take the ball against these same Mets next week, this time on the road.

Holmes (7-4) was saddled with the loss Thursday against Atlanta, giving up three runs on four hits and six walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

Holmes had opened with 2.1 hitless innings, but his control eluded him during a long fifth frame. The right-hander walked three in the fifth, throwing 30 pitches in the inning before he was removed from the game. Thursday marked the first time since his second start of the year that Holmes failed to toss at least five frames, and his six free passes represented a career high. The 32-year-old is set to bring a steady 3.04 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 73:31 K:BB across 83 innings into a rematch at home versus Atlanta next week.

Cabrera didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Phillies, giving up one run on two hits and three walks in 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

The hard-throwing right-hander tallied 14 swinging strikes on the evening, and he fanned at least five in his sixth straight start. Cabrera tends to struggle with his control and efficiency, as he threw just 47 of his 82 pitches for strikes Thursday, so it was also encouraging to see him toss at least six frames for the first time in 12 outings this year. Cabrera holds a 3.81 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 63:26 K:BB over 59 innings in 2025, and his next appearance is slated for next week against the Giants in San Francisco.

Sanchez (6-2) registered the win Thursday against the Marlins, giving up one run on five hits and no walks in eight innings. He struck out four.

Sanchez spun a season-high eight innings, and he's now fired at least seven frames in three consecutive starts. The 28-year-old left-hander kept Miami's bats guessing throughout the outing, inducing a whopping 15 groundouts en route to his eighth appearance of the year of at least six innings while surrendering two runs or fewer. Sanchez will take an impressive 2.87 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 92:28 K:BB over 87.2 innings into a tough road matchup slated for next week against the Astros, who have crushed left-handed pitching with an .897 OPS versus southpaws since the start of May.

Martinez (4-8) took the loss Thursday against Minnesota, allowing seven runs on seven hits and one walk over 2.2 innings. He struck out four.

Martinez failed to complete three innings for the first time in 15 appearances this season and surrendered three runs for a second straight outing. The 34-year-old has allowed a long ball in five consecutive starts, logging a 6.03 ERA and a 22:7 K:BB over 31.1 innings during that stretch. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is expected to come Tuesday against the Yankees.

Heaney (3-6) took the loss Thursday against the Tigers, allowing seven runs on eight hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out two.

Heaney fell behind early Thursday, allowing a run in the first inning before the Tigers put up a four-spot in the second. The seven runs ultimately charged to Heaney mark a season high. The left-hander's ERA is up to 3.94 with a 1.19 WHIP and 61:27 K:BB across 15 outings (82.1 innings). Heaney will look to get back on track in his next start, currently scheduled for next week in Milwaukee.
