  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Strong showing in return from DL

Strasburg (10-4) took the loss to the Padres on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.

While it goes down as a losing effort, Strasburg looked good in his return from an elbow injury, touching the upper 90s with his fastball and showing good movement with his changeup. He induced 15 swinging strikes, and the extent of the damage against him came on a first-inning homer off the bat of Yangervis Solarte. With a team off day Monday, Strasburg could start the series finale against Houston next week.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Goes 4.2 innings against Colorado

Woodruff gave up one run on five hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday.

It wasn't a great performance, but it was about as good as one could have reasonably expected from Woodruff in Colorado. All five hits against him were singles, and Woodruff buckled down in the fourth with two runners on, striking out back-to-back hitters to escape the jam. Assuming he starts next week and the Brewers don't skip him again -- they could with an off day Thursday -- Woodruff will face the Dodgers in Los Angeles next.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Suffers 11th defeat Saturday

Teheran (7-11) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out seven across six innings to take the loss Saturday against the Reds.

Teheran had allowed just a single run going into the fourth inning, but he struggled during his second and third times through the lineup. This was the fifth time over his last six outings that he's failed to post a quality start, and with a 5.02 ERA, he's a risky player to trust in fantasy lineups. He'll make his next start Friday against the Rockies.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Tosses five scoreless Saturday

Ryu allowed five hits and four walks through five scoreless innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Tigers. He struck out four.

While Ryu didn't pitch long enough to earn the win -- the Dodgers didn't get on the scoreboard until the seventh inning -- he put together his third scoreless outing in his last four tries. He's still just 4-6 on the season, but Ryu should come by his share of wins with his 3.45 ERA coupled with the way the Dodgers are playing. He'll try to keep things going as he makes his next start Thursday against the Pirates.

  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Allows five runs in Saturday loss

Wacha (9-6) allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three across four innings to take the loss Saturday against the Pirates.

Wacha gave up a pair of two-run homers in a five-run second inning, and he was unable to give the Cardinals a chance to gain a road victory. Although he's been effective in the majority of his starts, Wacha has allowed at least four earned runs in three of his last six starts to raise his ERA from 3.71 to 4.08. He'll make his next start Friday against the Rays.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Cubs' Jose Quintana: Fans eight in win

Quintana (8-10) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings to earn the win over the Blue Jays on Saturday. He struck out eight batters.

The southpaw grabbed his second straight win and fourth as a Cub, and he now boasts a 3.73 ERA and 46:13 K:BB in seven starts (41 innings) since the crosstown trade. While he hasn't been phenomenal, Quintana has been consistent for his new club, tossing five quality starts and allowing three or fewer runs in six of his seven starts. He'll look to keep things rolling in a favorable matchup against the Phillies on Friday.

  • Johnny Cueto SP | LAA

Giants' Johnny Cueto: All set for rehab start

Cueto (forearm) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The plan calls for Cueto to build up to 50-60 pitches Monday in his first of two rehab appearances. Cueto suffered a flexor strain in late July while rehabbing from a blister issue. He'd been pitching with a blister for a while and had developed three blisters on his throwing hand by the time he finally landed on the DL, which in part explains Cueto's uncharacteristic struggles throughout the first half.

  • Robbie Ray SP | SD

Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Set to start Thursday

Ray (concussion) is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Mets, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

As expected, Ray will rejoin the big-league rotation for the upcoming series against the Mets after spending the entire month of August on the concussion DL. He struck out 11 batters through 4.2 innings during his only minor-league rehab start, flashing the impressive stuff he displayed with the Diamondbacks before being struck in the head by a liner last month. Ray sports a healthy 3.11 ERA and 151:58 K:BB through 118.2 innings (20 starts) this season, and he should be immediately deployed in all formats.

  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Activated from DL ahead of scheduled start

Strasburg (elbow) was activated from the disabled list and confirmed as the starting pitcher for Saturday's game against the Padres, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

Strasburg, who has been on the shelf with a right elbow impingement since July 27, tossed a five-inning rehab start for High-A Potomac with no issues Monday, clearing the way for him to make his next start for the big club. The 29-year-old -- and his 3.25 ERA and 141:37 K:BB through 121.2 innings (20 starts) this season -- will face the lowly Padres in his return to the Nationals' rotation.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Receives PRP injection

Wainwright received a PRP injection in his right elbow Saturday and will be shut down from throwing for 10-14 days, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Wainwright remains without a timetable for his return, but the Cardinals are optimistic that he'll be back in action before the season is over. In the meantime, Luke Weaver will continue to fill his spot in the starting rotation.
