Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Fans nine in Saturday loss
Castillo (2-7) allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine across seven innings to take the loss Saturday against the Pirates.
Castillo pitched five shutout innings, but his only mistake was giving up a home run to opposing pitcher Gerrit Cole, leading to his seventh loss of the season. He's been solid over his last three outings, as he's allowed just three earned runs over 17 innings, and despite Castillo's poor winning percentage, fantasy owners have benefited from his 3.26 ERA to go along with a 1.14 WHIP. He'll make his next start Friday against the Pirates.

Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Pirates' Gerrit Cole: Fires seven shutout innings in Saturday victory
Cole (11-8) pitched seven shutout innings on five hits while striking out six to earn the win Saturday against the Reds.
Cole entered the sixth inning in a scoreless tie, but he hit a home run to give himself enough run support in a 1-0 victory. After allowing nine earned runs over his last 12.1 innings covering two starts, Cole may be getting back on track for a strong stretch run. He'll make his next start Friday against the Reds.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Fans eight over five innings in rehab start
Kershaw (back) allowed one run on two hits over five innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday. He struck out eight and did not issue a walk.
The lone run against Kershaw came on a Jorge Soler solo homer. Kershaw lobbied to skip a rehab start and return to the Dodgers' rotation this weekend after completing a three-inning simulated game, but the Dodgers took the cautious route. After he threw 64 pitches Saturday, Kershaw appears in the line to return Thursday for the series opener against the Padres.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Tabbed with Monday's start
Nola will start Monday's game against the Braves, Ryan Lawrence of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Nola had been scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Cubs, but the Phillies are going to recall Nick Pivetta from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take the hill for said game. As a result, Nola will carry his 3.58 ERA and 1.21 WHIP into a more favorable matchup against the Braves on Monday.

Tim Melville SP | BAL
Padres' Tim Melville: Picked up by Padres
Melville was claimed off waivers by the Padres on Saturday.
Now that he's a member of the Padres organization, Melville will likely provide organizational depth in the bullpen. The 27-year-old has had limited exposure to the majors over the course of his career, as he's pitched just 12.1 innings over four games in big leagues. In that time he's allowed 16 runs on 12 walks and 20 hits, six of which were home runs.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Throws batting practice Saturday
Syndergaard (lat) threw live batting practice Saturday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
The club has yet to set a target date for Syndergaard to make a rehab start, but Saturday's workout is a step in the right direction for the hard-throwing righty. The Mets are heading into Saturday's game against the Nationals with a 56-71 record and have been hit with a string of injuries, making the playoffs seem out of reach and giving them no reason to rush Syndergaard back. However, owners should expect to see Syndergaard on the mound before the season comes to a close.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Cruises to victory Friday
Teheran (8-11) picked up the win Friday against the Rockies, allowing two runs on five hits over 7.1 innings while striking out four.
The Braves spotted the right-hander a 5-0 lead through two innings, and it was relatively smooth sailing from there. It was Teheran's first quality start at SunTrust Field in over a month, and just his second win at home on the season -- with his first coming way back on April 14 in his debut at the new park. It's too soon to say he's overcome his issues in the so-called friendly confines, where he has a 6.54 ERA as compared to a 3.24 ERA on the road, but he won't have to worry about it in his next start Wednesday in Philadelphia.

Vince Velasquez RP | KC
Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Will get second opinion this week
Velasquez (finger) said he intends to get a second opinion before deciding to proceed with surgery, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Velasquez will see a doctor in Dallas on Tuesday. He said there may be a chance he can avoid a surgical procedure and if not, he can decide between doctors to perform the procedure. The 25-year-old is out for the season due to a blood-flow issue that has affected the middle finger on his pitching hand.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Picks up win over Brewers
Maeda (12-5) allowed one run on just one hit and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings Friday against Milwaukee.
This marks Maeda's first quality start since he tossed seven shutout frames Aug. 1 against the Braves. Still, despite his inconsistency both in terms of runs allowed and going deep into games, Maeda is 3-1 over that five-start stretch. Maeda isn't just a solid pitcher, he's a solid pitcher with a great team behind him, which often makes for the best fantasy assets.

Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Takes third loss Friday
Anderson (7-3) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings to take the loss Friday against the Dodgers.
The Brewers are still limiting Anderson's pitches as this was just his second start back from the disabled list after recovering from an oblique injury. Anderson gave up a solo home run to Logan Forsythe but managed to stop the floodgates from opening. The constant stream of baserunners, though, forced him to throw 96 pitches through five innings. Anderson has pitched well since returning from the DL, but he might not be able to go deep into games for a few weeks.
