Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Roughed up as Arizona's winning streak ends
Corbin (13-12) was the pitcher of record in the Diamondbacks' 10-6 loss to the Padres on Friday, serving up eight runs on 11 hits and three walks in 4.1 innings.
Corbin came up short as the Diamondbacks' franchise-record 13-game winning streak came to a close, a surprising development given the quality of opponent and how well he has pitched of late. The lefty entered Friday with a 5-0 record, 0.50 ERA and 0.79 WHIP over his previous five starts and looked well on his way to another strong outing after keeping the Padres off the board through three innings, but he completely unraveled in the fourth, allowing seven consecutive batters to reach base at one point before recording the final out of the frame. Corbin's solid body of work on the whole shouldn't completely result in fantasy owners losing faith in him, though he'll draw a more difficult matchup in his next scheduled turn Sept. 13 against the Rockies.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Dodgers' Yu Darvish: Falls apart in fifth
Darvish (2-3) took the loss after giving up five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six over 4.1 innings against the Rockies on Friday.
Darvish cruised through four frames before coming unraveled in a four-run fifth inning. The Dodgers' prized deadline acquisition has struggled since moving west (5.34 ERA in six starts), but he has maintained his lofty strikeout rate (11.9 K/9) to ease the blow to his owners' ERAs. On a positive note, Darvish became the fastest pitcher to notch 1,000 strikeouts, accomplishing the feat in 128 games. His next start comes against the Nationals next Friday.

Jordan Lyles RP | KC
Padres' Jordan Lyles: Picked up by offense Friday
Lyles (1-2) picked up the win despite allowing four runs on six hits over five innings Friday. He struck out six in a 10-6 win over Arizona.
Lyles was allowed to remain in the Padres' six-man rotation and rewarded the club with his first victory of the season. The results weren't pretty, but all things considered, this was a successful outing in a tough pitching environment against a red-hot Diamondbacks squad. Things don't get easier for Lyles and his 6.75 ERA in his next start against the Rockies at Coors Field next Saturday.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Notches 13th win against Atlanta
Urena (13-6) allowed one run on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts through 6.1 innings to pick up the win Friday over Atlanta.
Urena has found a groove in the second half, as he has now allowed more than three runs just once in his last eight starts. His only mistake was a solo home run off the bat of Freddie Freeman. Now the owner of a 3.61 ERA, Urena turns just 26 years old next week and has used this season to establish himself as a key piece of the future of the Marlins.

Jake Thompson SP | PHI
Phillies' Jake Thompson: Blasted for seven runs in Friday loss
Thompson (1-2) allowed seven runs, five of which were earned, on seven hits and two walks across five innings to take the loss Friday against the Nationals.
Thompson allowed runs in four of the five innings he pitched, including an inside-the-park grand slam off the bat of Michael Taylor, as he dropped his second decision of the season. In the five starts he's made since July 28, he's proven to be extremely volatile, as he's matched stellar outings with terrible performances, making him a very risky fantasy option. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Marlins.
-
Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Pitches six shutout innings in Friday victory
Lugo (6-4) allowed no runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four across six innings to earn the win Friday against the Reds.
Lugo had little trouble keeping the Reds bats silent while the offense gave him plenty of support to help him earn his sixth victory of the season. He came into this contest having allowed 19 earned runs over his past 24.2 innings, and although he had a strong outing in this game, his recent struggles have made him a weak fantasy option. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Cubs.

Chris Flexen RP | CHC
Mets' Chris Flexen: Next start to be skipped
Flexen will have his next start skipped, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Flexen was originally supposed to start Saturday against Cincinnati, but instead the Mets will push up Rafael Montero and Jacob deGrom to start Saturday and Sunday respectively. While there has been no official confirmation, this likely means Matt Harvey will start Tuesday's series opener in Chicago. Flexen owns a brutal 7.85 ERA and has allowed seven runs without completing five innings in each of his past two starts, so the Mets will use their upcoming off day to keep the ball out of his hands.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Pirates' Tyler Glasnow: Option to start next week
Glasnow will be an option to start next against the Brewers in place of Jameson Taillon.
Taillon is being skipped, and while manager Clint Hurdle did not immediately name his replacement, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette points out that Glasnow is on the same schedule as Taillon. Glasnow put together an excellent season with Triple-A Indianapolis and really made strides with his control late in the year, issuing just 17 walks in his final 64 regular-season innings with the affiliate.

Jameson Taillon SP | TOR
Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Won't make next scheduled start
The Pirates plan on skipping Taillon's next scheduled start Tuesday against the Brewers, Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Taillon had a poor showing Thursday against the Cubs. Over 4.2 innings he gave up six runs on 11 hits and a walk, bringing his ERA and WHIP up to 4.78 and 1.55, respectively, for the season. The Pirates have yet to announce who they'll send to the hill instead of Taillon when Tuesday comes around.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Set to throw simulated game
Syndergaard's (lat) next rehab exercise will be a 50-pitch simulated game, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
It hasn't been determined when Syndergaard will throw the simulated game, but an announcement should be made in the coming days. Syndergaard threw 36 pitches in a rehab game with short-season Brooklyn on Thursday, so the club will likely give him a bit more time to ensure that he feels ready to move forward.
