  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Will start Game 1 of World Series

Manager Dave Roberts announced that Kershaw will start Game 1 of the World Series against the Yankees or Astros on Tuesday, Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com reports.

Kershaw tossed six innings of one-run ball in Thursday's NLCS-clinching win over the Cubs, setting himself up to face off against the American League champions on a full four days of rest. Kershaw faced the Yankees once last season (five scoreless innings) but hasn't faced the Astros since 2015.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Will start Game 5

Kershaw will start Game 5 of the NLCS against the Cubs on Thursday, Tyler Kepner of The New York Times reports.

The Dodgers were unable close out the series -- losing 3-2 to the Cubs on Wednesday -- so Kershaw will get the ball for Game 5 on Thursday as he looks to send Los Angeles to its first World Series since 1988. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four batters in five innings during his Game 1 start against Chicago.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Cubs' Jose Quintana: Set to start Game 5

Quintana will start Game 5 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Thursday, Tyler Kepner of The New York Times reports.

The Cubs were able to avoid the sweep with a 3-2 win Wednesday, forcing a Game 5 in Chicago that will feature Quintana opposite Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw. In his first start of the NLCS -- which was cut short because he was used in relief two days prior -- the southpaw allowed two runs on two hits while striking out four batters and walking two. As long as he's effective, the Cubs will look for Quintana to pitch deeper into Thursday's must-win contest, seeing as he'll be working on regular rest and Wade Davis is unavailable due to a 44-pitch outing Wednesday.

  • Reds' Brandon Finnegan: Both shoulders fully healed

Both of Finnegan's surgically repaired shoulders are fully healed, MLB.com's Mark Sheldon reports. "I will just have a normal offseason. I'm completely healed, both sides," Finnegan said. "I've got more rotation in my right shoulder than I had before I got hurt. That's a good thing. I'll start working out in November and throwing in December. I'll keep up with my running, and that's it."

While Finnegan's health progress is good, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be back to the same form in the spring when pitching. Often the transition from "healthy" to "pitching effectively" is lengthy when dealing with shoulder injuries.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Starting Game 2

Hill has been named the starter for Game 2 of the NLCS against the Cubs, David Vassegh of AM 570 in Los Angeles reports.

It'll be a matchup of lefties Sunday in Los Angeles with Hill going against Jon Lester and the Cubs. Hill lasted just 4.0 innings in his start against the Diamondbacks in the NLDS, allowing two earned runs and walking three batters.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Cubs' Jose Quintana: Will start Saturday

Quintana will take the hill for Game 1 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Saturday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Quintana will face off against Clayton Kershaw after pitching Game 3 of the NLDS on Monday. During that start versus the Nationals, Quintana allowed just one run (zero earned) off two hits and one walk while striking out seven over 5.2 innings. The Cubs have yet to announce a rotation beyond Quintana, but this would likely set him up for Game 5 at Wrigley Field on Thursday as well.

  • Alex Wood RP | ATH

Dodgers' Alex Wood: Pegged for NLCS Game 4 start

Manager Dave Roberts announced that Wood will start Wednesday's Game 4 of the NLCS against either the Cubs or Nationals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Wood was scheduled to pitch Game 4 of the NLDS against the Diamondbacks but didn't get the opportunity to take the mound after the N.L. West champs put together a three-game sweep of their divisional foes. The 26-year-old made two starts against the Cubs during the regular season, allowing one earned run over 8.2 total innings. He also found success in his lone outing against the Nationals, hurling six scoreless innings in a Sept. 15 victory.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Will toe rubber for NLCS Game 1

Manager Dave Roberts announced that Kershaw will start Game 1 of the NLCS against either the Cubs or Nationals on Saturday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

As expected, the Dodgers' ace will be on the mound to kick off the best-of-seven set against the winner of Thursday's Cubs vs. Nationals matchup. Kershaw allowed four runs over 4.1 innings in his lone start against the Cubs this season and tossed seven innings of one-run ball in his outing against the Nationals.

  • Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA

Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Tabbed as Game 5 starter

Hendricks will start Game 5 of the NLDS against the Nationals on Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Hendricks is expected to take the mound against either Gio Gonzalez or Tanner Roark in the decisive Game 5. The 27-year-old picked up a win in Game 1 of the series, tossing seven scoreless innings and allowing just two hits and three walks while striking out six.

  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Will start Game 4 on Wednesday

Strasburg (illness) will take the mound for Game 4 of the NLDS on Wednesday, Jesse Rogers of ESPNChicago.com reports.

Strasburg will toe the rubber after all, as manager Dusty Baker decided to roll with him even though the 29-year-old was dealing with an illness leading up to the contest. This move pushes Tanner Roark to the bullpen, since the club will likely throw Gio Gonzalez on Thursday if a Game 5 is needed.
