  • Reds' Brandon Finnegan: Allows five in loss

Finnegan (0-3) allowed five runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two across 3.1 innings Sunday as he took the loss against the Marlins.

Finnegan got rocked early and was replaced by Dylan Floro in the fourth inning following a rain delay. He gave up all five runs in the first two frames and exited with a 5-2 deficit. The 25-year-old's early struggles carried over into his fifth start of the season, and he sits with a 8.27 ERA and 2.03 WHIP across 20.2 innings. Finnegan will need to put together a quality outing soon, or he'll be in danger of losing his spot in the starting rotation.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: To begin rehab Monday

Kershaw's test results confirmed Sunday that he's dealing with left biceps tendinitis. He'll resume rehabbing in Los Angeles on Monday.

Kershaw was placed on the 10-day disabled list earlier Sunday and was subsequently sent back to Los Angeles to meet with Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who confirmed the Dodgers' initial diagnosis of the ace's injury. The Dodgers have yet to release a timetable for his return, but Kershaw, who experienced the biceps issue while playing catch Saturday, will miss at least one turn through the rotation. Kershaw's absence will result in Ross Stripling taking the hill when a fifth starter is next required during the Dodgers' series with the Reds over the weekend.

  • Eric Lauer SP | LAD

Padres' Eric Lauer: Goes six scoreless in win over Dodgers

Lauer (1-1) went six scoreless innings while earning the win Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing seven hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

Lauer scattered baserunners on the afternoon and limited the Dodgers to one extra-base hit. He threw first-pitch strikes to 18 of 27 batters and was in the zone at a 64 percent clip. This outing was a dramatic improvement on Lauer's first two of the season in which he allowed nine earned runs over eight total innings. He still has a bloated 5.79 ERA, which he will look to improve Friday against the Cardinals.

  • Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Will stay in rotation

Stripling will remain in the Dodgers' rotation for at least one more start, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.

Stripling was feeling ill Sunday against the Padres but still managed to toss four scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and two walks while fanning five. Manager Dave Roberts stated that Stripling will remain a part of the starting rotation for at least one more time through -- his next start is expected to come Friday or Saturday against Cincinnati. The 28-year-old right-hander figures to be sent to the bullpen when Clayton Kershaw (biceps) returns.

  • MacKenzie Gore SP | TEX

Padres' MacKenzie Gore: Set to return Tuesday

Gore (finger) is expected to come off the 7-day disabled list Tuesday for Low-A Fort Wayne, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Gore went on the DL due to a blister on his left middle finger in mid-April, and he's scheduled to be activated Tuesday. He's made just one start at Low-A this season, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four across three innings.

  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Allows five earned runs

Anderson (3-3) allowed five earned runs on five hits while walking two and striking out three across 5.1 innings to take the loss Sunday against the Pirates.

Anderson didn't allow a lot of baserunners, but four of the five hits he allowed went for extra bases -- including two solo home runs. He has struggled with the long ball this season, having surrendered at least one home run in six of his eight starts and multiple home runs in three of his starts. His surface stats remain viable for most league formats, but he has seen key peripheral metrics fall off from last season's pace.

  • Kyle Freeland SP | COL

Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Sharp for third straight start

Freeland (2-4) got the win against the Mets on Sunday, scattering four hits and giving up two earned runs over seven strong innings, striking out eight and walking one as the Rockies took a 3-2 victory.

That's now the third straight standout effort from the left-hander, who has given up just five earned runs and posted an excellent 21:3 K:BB over his last 21 innings. Two of those three starts have come away from hitter-friendly Coors Field, but his overall numbers are strong, as his ERA is down to 3.95, his WHIP sits at 1.17 and opponents are hitting just .227 off him through 41 innings. The true test of whether Freeland can be a consistent fantasy option will be if he can continue to post solid numbers as he logs more outings at Coors Field. He'll get a chance to show he can do so when he takes the mound at home against the Brewers on Saturday.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Gives up two earned over six innings

Syndergaard gave up two earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out six over six innings, but he didn't factor into the decision in the Mets' 3-2 loss to the Rockies on Sunday.

Syndergaard hasn't been his absolute sharpest over this last two trips to the mound, giving up 16 hits with an 8:5 K:BB over his last 12 innings, but he's still logged a quality start in both of those outings. There's no apparent reason to be concerned about the big right-hander. He now has a 3.09 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP over 46.2 innings and will look to get back to his lights-out ways in his next start against the Phillies next Saturday.

  • Joe Musgrove SP | SD

Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Rehab start pushed back

Musgrove (shoulder) had his scheduled rehab start pushed back to Monday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic Pittsburgh reports.

It's unclear if poor weather resulted in the decision, as rain is expected in the Sunday forecast for Altoona, Pa. The team has taken its time with Musgrove up to this point, so there's no need to start rushing now, especially if conditions are not ideal. Musgrove will instead start the first of what's expected to be a multi-game rehab stint Monday.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Scheduled to take the mound Tuesday

Hill (finger) will make his next start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.

Hill was originally supposed to start Sunday in San Diego, but was scratched due to a finger issue and will be replaced by Ross Stripling. Hill is no stranger to blisters, but it's unclear if that's the problem here. In any case, the push back appears to be merely precautionary, as Hill will get the nod after a team day off Monday.
